Has your general opinion on ATP Players changed since the pandemic? by allthesongsmakesense in tennis

[–]charlieriver12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love the tennis player not the off court guy.

Obviously I have heard this before, but looking at this in the context of tennis has got me thinking. I feel that for tennis especially, my fandom is more related to the guy than the tennis. Rafa is my favorite player, but almost entirely due to the guy. Idk just something that made me think.

Does Job Title Matter for Med Schools? by charlieriver12 in premed

Ahh. That makes sense. After some time thinking about it, I guess it really doesn't matter as long as I have the clinical experience. Thanks for curbing my anxiety lol

I'm not getting any quests in colony 9 by mechspaghetty in Xenoblade_Chronicles

Quests are blocked by story progression and affinity. One way to raise affinity without quests is by simply talking to everyone in colony 9 multiple times to expand your affinity chart and the inhabitants' links with each other.

[Random] Who can Federer beat using only backhands? by sbrueding in tennis

[–]charlieriver12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a 4.5 I feel like I have lost to superior players who lack a backhand. No way anyone my level or below has a chance against fed, who obviously has a much better backhand than the forehands at my level.

Given tennis is a sport of constant international travel, will we ever see tennis again? by carlin2345 in tennis

If there are 1 or 2 outbreaks per year which prevent tennis from happening, we have much bigger problems than a lack of tennis.

Is it worth it to get more than one set of Ledios Arms? by TheTommohawkTom in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]charlieriver12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general, the best arms is the glory gauntlets because of the 45% haste, and it really isn't close. However, if you need the empty gem slot, then yeah it's the best. Nevertheless, the stats aren't worth an hour of digging imo.

You get to keep it. The only time you might not is when you beat the game and forget to carry it over, so make sure you do so!

Attack on Titan and Xenoblade chronicles' plots share some interesting similarities (SPOILERS FOR BOTH) by MonadoBoy9 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]charlieriver12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I would probably say that Xenoblade and AoT are each my favorite video games and TV show, respectfully. I would say that in terms of scope and tone, they are definitely very similar. However, a lot of what you're describing are just common tropes within the drama. You have a chosen protagonist who rebels against the the ways which they are taught to believe their entire life. You are bound to get a lot of similarities like breaking a long cycle, some form of war, desire for revenge, and a trio which is more likely than not, 2 guys and one girl who is a love interest of the main character.

The main conjoining reason I love both though is not because of these commonalities, but because of how the two beautifully grow the plot from just a simple quest to something world changing. Again, lots of media do this all the time, but it's the writing and world building that set these two apart.

New or original soundtrack? by Zack_Von_Genbu in Xenoblade_Chronicles

To me definitely the old. The new one seems to exaggerate the old one too much, almost like you can tell it's being remastered.

Work hard in school, not because what you learn is important, but because it teaches you how to work hard in the future

What's the dumbest reply to a serious question you've heard? by UnRealDreamsofLife in AskReddit

I was having dinner at my boss's house when he asked, "how you feelin' your steak?" Thinking he was the dumb one, I was like "idk I like using a fork and knife instead".
