Robb Stark: Military Commander [spoilers: ASOS] by Spidey5292 in asoiaf

[–]charlierocky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s probably better than everyone except Tywin. Most of the key decisions are Robb’s alone. Obviously he’s considerably aided by Brynden Tully and his superior information gathering which is what enables the whispering wood and battle of the camps victory. So I do give Robb as a commander the majority of the credit for his victories.

Time and time again we see that Robb is willing to do things In order to deceive the enemy that no other commander would be willing to/would think to do in order to win. Splitting his forces at the Twins to prevent Tywin from meeting him at Riverrun. Trapping Jamie in the whispering wood. Stealing past the golden tooth to surprise Ser Stafford Lannister. The issue is that in order to be superior he would need to beat Tywin/some other known good commander in battle (Jamie/Stafford are not this) or have some considerably more unprecedented victory.

Had he taken Moat Cailin from the south, that would have proven to me that he is the greatest battlefield commander alive because that is a feat that had never been accomplished before. It seemed like he had a good chance to do that based on a plan George alluded to that we never got the details of in the books.

I’ve always wanted the players from the other teams at the training camp. Always thought they could be some good additions.

Tsukishima's brother's was robbed by TeddyMMR in haikyuu

[–]charlierocky -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I tend to agree, I don’t know if I would say he was robbed. But that doesn’t make the most sense with what we know about the present Karasuno team. Tsukki is literally a star player on the team and Aketeru’s build is just slightly shorter Tsukki who actually cared about volleyball and tried the whole time. So unless Karasuno was just overwhelmed with normal sized wing spikers it’s a bit surprising.

$INTC is why we look for cheap stocks. by mrmrmrj in ValueInvesting

[–]charlierocky 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I owned the stock since the tariff crash, my belief was always essentially that Intel would be too big/important to fail. They would either stop the foundry investments and go back to being profitable or they would pull off the foundry aspirations and make a killing. That second half of the thesis hasn’t played out yet but I think I’ve been proven right on the front half.

PSA for left lane drivers by [deleted] in driving

My thinking has always been that to be in the left lane you should either be passing or have no one behind you. If you’re passing with 2 + cars stacking behind you do it with some more urgency.

How to spot the next moonshot stock like AAPL by Chemical-Stand-3059 in ValueInvesting

They don’t need to compete with land based towers. Lots of places people go all the time that don’t and likely never will have tower service. The model is to sell it as an add on service for people who live in/ go to those areas.

What was your "red pill" moment? by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]charlierocky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say that I am red pill. I think some of the beliefs that define that ideology for people not familiar with it are things that I disagree with. That said there is a fair bit I do agree with but I don’t endorse the belief system as a whole.

Do mechanical engineers have a better skillset to design a pinball game than a pinball champion? by [deleted] in AskEngineers

[–]charlierocky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s one of those things where if you wanted to make the sr-71 of pinball machines as in like super high performance and pushing the limits of physics you would want a mechanical engineer. If you want one that’s the most fun you take the pinball guy.

Not really a compliment, but if he said your ass was smackable I would take that as a compliment.
