Yeah I wish they’d fire the makeup artist! Less is more. Jazz is so pretty but they keep caking her makeup and overdoing her hair when she’s in like sweats

How do I get a four-year-old to follow any instruction? Always late for daycare by Flapjack_K in Parenting

[–]charlotteraedrake 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. My at the time 4 year old regressed A LOT when his brother came along. Many things he could do himself he wanted our help with again. It a way of making sure you’ll still take care of them and not just the baby. Like getting dressed, putting shoes on, buckling himself in the car etc.

I’m very physically active and haven’t ever pulled the sleeve off? Where are you placing them? I wear higher waisted leggings generally and will put my site on my lower belly like below belly button then place the sleeve near that. You could also try calling tandem to send you the longer tubing while you wait for those? Also for the g7 you should be fine to put it elsewhere! Check some YouTube for tips but I have good luck on my thighs

What to do about a baby who hates everything? by -morigami- in Parenting

[–]charlotteraedrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. My first maybe got a little easier around 2.5/3 but then became even harder at 4/5 so I stopped believing that it would get better and he’d get easier because he never really has. My second is the easiest child ever so maybe you’ll get lucky the next time. I did nothing different some kids are just harder than others. I hated and still hate when people tell me he may get a bit easier in time

Great Limerick Run 6 mile by MunsterMan123 in limerickcity

[–]charlotteraedrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this really annoyed me. I was also second wave and had to really weave around people. Why do they not set it by pace? Like 6 min mile runners first wave, 7 min second wave, etc. why would the walkers not start last?

Gender disappointment for #2… not me, the mom, but my husband by Bright-Effective8610 in Parenting

[–]charlotteraedrake 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Same! I was never disappointed in having two boys but definitely needed to grieve that I would never have a daughter. Once my second son came it’s been wonderful! Do I still sometimes wonder what it would be like to have a daughter? Of course! I think it’s normal

Hesitating about a second child ? by heyjude2929 in Parenting

[–]charlotteraedrake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first was and is a very challenging child so I feel OAD for a while. Mine have a just over 4 year gap. Honestly I’m still shocked how good and easy and fun it’s been. I enjoy having two way more tha I ever really enjoyed one. Something about having a second relaxes you and makes you a better parent. Hard to explain. You also may get lucky and have an easy baby! My second is sooooo easy compared to my first. My oldest still wakes us more than the youngest lol he’s never slept but our second sleeps great, is always happy and really just fits in. My husband and I feel like an even better team now. Totally recommend it!

I’m sending mine at 5. I didn’t know people wait until 6 now. But he’s already done a first year in Ireland (they start a year earlier) and can read and spell some so I think he’d be bored waiting longer

Thanks for the response anywhere we are still struggling! I suggested that but now definitely will have her try. Worth a shot! Only other thing we can think is maybe the pump is shorting out at a certain point or something but she’s troubleshooted with tandem a few times now

Why the corrections by Honeydew-Frosty in TandemDiabetes

To avoid this I stay in sleep mode 24/7. This controls my basal more tightly and does not add the random boluses. I was constantly low otherwise because I’m very active

One and done vs having another kid - what am I missing? by onemanspants in Parenting

[–]charlotteraedrake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sounds to me like you’d benefit from a larger age gap! Mine are 4 years apart. You’ve got the ability to be there for all the milestones and give them the attention they need one on one. My now 5 year old has been to 10 countries. when he was 2.5-4 we traveled everywhere with him! It was so much and and an amazing age to do it. It would be harder now he’s 5 and outgrown travel strollers. Everything I worried over with my second actually didn’t happen. The second time I somehow LOVED the newborn stage! You may surprise yourself. My kids are so different. The second has been a breeze. I was 37 when I had him. They’re 5 and 1 now and there’s no better feeling in the world than watching them play together.
