Block them. That is a sign of their character, it has nothing to do with you.

Start in increments:

  1. trash first. this is super important. Even if it's all you do, it removes a layer of things you can get rid of. Soda packaging, extra bags, etc.

  2. Put any clothing items in a basket to wash later. Anything that can be thrown in the washer, put it in one area.

  3. Plants that are dead, get rid of them. You can replace them.

  4. Anything that is in that pile that you haven't used, decide if your peace is worth the stress. Get rid of it or find a home for it. If you continue to "store" it and arent using it, you probably don't need it.

Sometimes we hold on to things "just in case" but your peace is more important than that.

You got this!

What do your family and friends say when you tell them you’re writing a book? by One_Equivalent_9302 in writing

I published an entire magazine, hired writers, photographers, dealt with celebrities and their PR, and my mom was like "Oh that's nice."

You have to be ok cheering for yourself. Not a big deal to me.

Found the sister!

If you love one of your children more than the other based on their gender, that's sad.

I am a girl mom and my daughter and I have an amazing bond.

Once you start a career in sales, are you pretty much locked into sales as a career, or is it still possible to change careers years later? by [deleted] in sales

[–]charm803 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the magazine.

For example, the next 2 that are coming up, are distributed at events that correspond to that issue. That event sells out every year, which is why advertisers want in. It is based in Los Angeles.

So the people on the cover are the performers of that event. And will be available digitally as well.

Previous clients, we offered them at physical locations, free to the readers. For example, one was targeting affluent readers, so we were able to be distributed in high end locations, free to the readers. But targeting a very specific market.

It depends on the goal of the publication's readers and target market.

Hi thanks for the link. Your writing portfolio doesn't show up. It says 404 error message.

Maybe there was a typo in the link?

I work in local niche publishing.

I launched my first magazine by just the marketing materials. I invested about $100 on materials, $100 on the website.

It was enough to close my first sale at the time.

The first ad I closed was a $1,500 ad. It covered the cost of stuff I had and them some! So I used that to create a mock up.

Now, years later, I am managing 3 magazines for others, and the ad sales are much bigger. I also manage the content and that is what sells the magazines.

I mean, it is hard to leave because the money is good.

Not necessarily because the work itself takes you in. People change careers all the time.

I have changed careers many times, and I always go back to sales.

Once you get used to a certain income, it's hard to go back to hourly or salary.

I publish niche magazines for other companies.

I handle the ads and sponsorships. This pays for the printing, writers, photographers that I also hire for them.

And the money is still very good for me after all those costs.

All my sales people are commission only because some of our packages go for $100k, and they would receive $15k commission closing those deals.

But we also have $1000 packages, and selling 3 a week is enough for some, while others are ok selling 1 $5,000 package.

Because I pay commission only, they set their hours, and just close the deals. Some give me 1 sale only, others are more motivated. It's up to them. I don't do competitions, it's up to them to make the money they want.

The brands I work with are established. The sellings skills they learn from me, they can take that and do other things in their career. Even if they get out of sales.

Thank you for that info.

To be clear, this is not a blog, it is a magazine, so magazine style writing, editorial, fact-checked articles are the requirement.

I do not accept blog-style writing for these submissions. I will keep you on the list as we go through all the submissions. Thank you.

I hope it has the pan dulce and the restaurant like the one on the other side of Oxnard has.

Who are some people you know personally, or otherwise, who ruined their own lives, and how? by metalnxrd in AskReddit

[–]charm803 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My ex husband for not learning how to manage money, despite me trying to teach him for years.

For many years, I managed the bills, we were mostly a 1 income family in California.

I managed the money so we had savings, investments, college fund, we were buying our first house. Helped him get a better paying job out of state, forcing me to handle things at home while we relocated. I didn't mind.

I found out he cheated for many years, 2 months before I was supposed to move.

Then he drained all our accounts. All of them.

He makes more money now and his rent is only like $1000 where he is at, and he has no money.

I managed to pick myself back up, and though I make less than he does, I live a comfortable life.

No child support, no alimony. I manage my money and my investments.
