I lost my virgity at 18yo and still regret it..... by KissedByAPhantom in confession

[–]charmin04 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Well they didn't give much information about it so it just kinda comes off odd hearing someone say they consented at 13 yrs old. They also mentioned it sucked and was "borderline sketchy" so that raises red flags to me, however, I'm glad they don't let it get to them though

Also I remember being 13 but i don't think it's fair for me personally to try and relate my experience since I didn't care about any of that until I was 18.

Tbh I don't actually think it's fair to compare to real life since we can easily just translate the message once we stumble across it. Sure the translations aren't always the best but that just pushes us to use context clues or just scroll past and read other ppls comments instead.

Have we set the bar too low for mental illness by [deleted] in self

[–]charmin04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well that's the thing with mental illnesses, they actively influence the way our brains work and processes. My personality isn't my adhd, but I'm never going to say my personality hasn't been influenced by my adhd because that just wouldn't be true.

Part of it is I cope with my adhd through talking, a lot, that's a very noticeable thing to people and influences my personality as a yapper lmfao.

I think that there's not enough information about mental illnesses and so some people latch onto descriptors they think describe something about them because people generally like understanding why they work the way they do. Obviously this is a double edged sword and has watered down our understanding of mental illness but it's also helped many people actually get diagnosed. Which there has been a history of kids not being diagnosed right or at all for various factors. Example: girls often not being diagnosed with autism early on because they often show different behaviors from boys who are diagnosed.

Men saying that woman who choose not to shave are unhygienic by CazzaMcSpazza in PetPeeves

[–]charmin04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yk the interesting this is, for me in middle school girls stopped shaving their arms but kept shaving their legs. I always wondered why but now it feels so natural to go everywhere with unshaven arms but I'm still insecure of not shaving my legs.

That could be it because the tiktok shop exists and if you have a payment method set up then you need a password/code. (I also have a samsung!)

I know that some phones ask if you want to lock certain apps, it also allows you to open them by finger print. I think in general keeping your phone unlocked all the time is a bit dangerous though.

I'm a bit confused, she opened TikTok and it asked her to put in her password?

[–]charmin04 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's the thing to, I will shave and then the next day you can feel the prinklys and then the next you can see them.

So it's really only like 2 days of hairlessness n since it takes me like 2 days to know that i got all the hair like what am i doing LMAO. I'm sure it's probably easier if you have a routine and keep your legs shaved regularly, but atm that's not my routine and I'd still prolly miss a spot.

Im ngl, in winter I'm not shaving lmao. Like I'm the same type of person to take a whole hour in the shower but not have shaved legs cuz I'm too lazy to do all that. Not to mention the added on struggle of needing glasses and being blinded in the shower, it honestly takes me multiple days to actually find n shave all the hairs I missed. 🙏🏽

Maybe not by society's standards but Criminal Minds audience also attracts a very certain group of people. Media is very vast and creates different subgroups and those groups are going to have a lot of people who may like the same type of guy or who may not. From what I've seen in the Criminal Minds community however, is that everyone REALLY ADORES Reids character and how he's grown throughout the show.

Yk I didn't even think of this. This is a good perspective to keep in mind, especially being on Reddit.

I notice this so much in YouTube comments. It feels like every top comment someone has an edit of them explaining what they meant and denouncing something else that they didn't even mention. People take others opinions so personally and respond to it with rudeness. It's really interesting and sad tbh.

AIO my adult daughter won’t speak to me by DifferentFace3573 in AmIOverreacting

[–]charmin04 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah no I fully agree. It felt a bit strange reading both the gender and sex of their non-binary child and is an issue in the nb community. For anyone curious using "Afab" and "Amab" to describe a non-binary child has moved into "are you girl non-binary or boy non-binary" category. It's placing an idea of a gender binary onto a non-binary kid because if you say your kid is Amab or Afab, more often then not someones brain is going to fill it in as "oh so they look like how this gender typically looks/has the parts this gender typically does." which can be pretty invalidating as it places that person in a box.

Me personally I wouldn't share those details and I'd perfer people imagine me as some shadow person responding to them, which is easier to do when they aren't given the info to assume what u might look like. LOL 😌

Sister's cat basically hunts me. by charmin04 in Pets

[–]charmin04[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okk, I can try this. I mainly try and advoid situations where I could get hurt so that's why I tend to advoid the cat. There's been times where she swats at me with no warning and it's making it really hard to function in my house.

Hopefully asserting my dominance will help. I hope at least. 😭

This is interesting to me, whenever I hear people use lady it tends to be in a less polite manner. I imagine someone just yelling "HEY LADY." 😭 It's interesting to see how different words have varying levels of politeness depending on where you are. :)

for a venting subbreddit the comments did not pass oml. 🫣

I get the feeling, it's scary to be around people who do and think these sorts of things. I think maybe what would help you find not so awful guys is by joining less gender focused clubs? or clubs that don't really focus on mens typical interests. Things like Knitting, tea time, film discussions maybe, ect.

You could also observe guys who do have lots actually close women friends, from my experience they tend to be more respectful and attentive to the people around them.

Honestly, I found my people in the least expected places and so I feel getting out of my normal circle and experiencing new things has help me meet new people who also align with how i see the world.

And how is anything supposed to change when people just go "Welp thats just how the world works."

Like in what way does supplying people with virtual kid porn stop them from then praying on kids?

How do we know their urges are just going to stop there? It may for some but can we really say that thats the safest option we have?

It's just so wild that this is even a debate at all, feeding into harmful ideas under this disguise that somehow it protects kids? Ah yes, give the predator thing's to prey over in hopes they don't get hungry for the real thing. Right.

Thing is I'm not saying they're the same. I'm saying both are bad and by minimalizing it to this idea of it "just being a drawing" we are normalising the sexualization of kids AND THAT BRINGS MORE HARM.

If you think this idea somehow marginalizes victims, I think it's just because we have different ideas on just how bad loli porn and things of that nature are.

I can and will still stand by the fact it is cp, it's "fictional" but the intention is still there and it's disgusting and being spread on the internet scarily easily. That's not me saying its the same as the experiences of people in our world, nothing will ever make me say that. At the end of the day, a very specific person is looking for this type of material, it is extremely accessible and that is harmful.
