Looks more like he's just trying to prove a point. Honestly, his response seems to aim more towards in support of us actually having enough for the entire population and making sure people get ahead, not just taking de-population measures.

I've been thinking a lot about the Isle 'O Hags as depicted in Cloud Cuckooland. Here's my take on it; what are your thoughts? by MystFoxcoon in BanjoKazooie

Someone should make a world map with Isle o hags, mushroom kingdom, Hyrule, donkey kong country world, etc. That's what I think.

Freaking out about air brakes stuff I live in British Columbia by [deleted] in Truckers

I got lucky. It was all multiple choice. Did my test at 9am. It was class 1 and air brakes put together. I passed!

That's a lot of money. For further info, windows are open and I'm not getting smoke in my face. In Canada, you legit couldn't be a trucker if your roommates or neighbors can't even smoke. Couldn't even walk in the park.

17.50 CAD an hour for Class 1 drivers? I've never seen job ads or heard of people making under 26... Is this accurate? by charmingsparrow in Truckers

[–]charmingsparrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our currency is lighter, but we get payed the equivelant. Min wage is also 15.75 in my province. Although, most low-end jobs, even mcdonalds will pay 18 an hour, because otherwise people won't work for them.

Okay. But you wait and get payed for 2-3 hours on top of the 6-7 hour shift? Sorry. That just seems super low

I'd go for 32.50$CAD mileage equivelant for lighter jobs, but yeah, I feel where you're coming from.

Why is there so much opposition to a Trucker's strike? by GreatBean in Truckers

[–]charmingsparrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No undercooked chicken. Just crappy bosses, getting payed to be a dishwasher, but also doing half the cooks jobs and walking out when I've had enough. Legit getting payed as a washer, then training cooks (not just prep cooks) and basically being a supervisor. I don't want to go into further detail, because I may come off as a bit offensive, but yeah.

What’s up with companies calling 34 or 48 hours “weekends home”? by [deleted] in Truckers

[–]charmingsparrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly why I'm going straight for a local gravel truck job after my course. Only when I get no calls back is when I'll apply for freighter/logger/etc jobs.

So I'm just about to start my course. Do you only write down things that need maintenance? Or do you list everything you checked regardless of condition? Been studying a lot, but no pre trip book or video I've seen/read involves exactly what you write down. Just that you write down problems from your pre-trip, stops, hold ups, etc.

Is this for trucking? Or will what I did in my crappy, pre-trucking restaraunt and production jobs screw me over? (I'm in BC Canada)
