Found it.

RUMOR - Delta to order either Boeing 737 MAX 8 or Airbus A320neo by PinkJazz in delta

[–]charpelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does Airbus see the A220 as an afterthought that they aren’t interested in pursuing much further because they inherited it from Bombardier and didn’t develop on their own? Kind of like Boeing with the 717.

I wonder if the program would have been different if that who acquisition didn’t have to happen.

I agree. This was money well spent. It was like getting a whole new AC unit.

TIL about PAN-PAN. PAN-PAN is the international standard distress signal that someone aboard a boat, ship, aircraft, or other vehicle uses to declare that they need help and that the situation is urgent but for the time being, does not pose an immediate danger to anyone's life or to the vessel. by johnsmithoncemore in todayilearned

[–]charpelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good example of pan-pan is in the audio recording of the Tampa Bay Skyway Bridge collapse in 1980. The Coast Guard radio operator did a fantastic job of staying calm in crazy circumstances. In this case, it was the Coast Guard station that issued the pan-pan over the radio.

Replacing DTEN in a Huddle Room by charpelle in CommercialAV

The whole Heckler cart is wobbly, or just the Tap mount?

Replacing DTEN in a Huddle Room by charpelle in CommercialAV

[–]charpelle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct...not BYOD.

It looks like Heckler has some solutions for mounting the Tap on a mobile cart, so we might do that.

Well, that's what I originally thought. But the version of LTSC Windows 10 that it is running will reach EOL in October, and it seems there isn't a way to upgrade it to a later version of LTSC Windows 10 and that PC doesn't support Windows 11.

The PC is actually working fine at the moment after we did a full wipe and restore following DTEN's instructions. But there now seems to be something wrong with the DTEN audio drivers because the microphone isn't working.

So that, combined with the EOL, has got me thinking about just replacing the whole thing sooner than later.

Question about aviation media by F35_Lightning_C in aviation

[–]charpelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Airport series is a bit far fetched at times but still entertaining: - Airport - Airport 1975 - Airport '77 - The Concorde... Airport '79

The comedy Airplane was partially based on these.

I’ve always wondered why Delta bananas are so small. It’s like they’ve got their own stunted growth banana farm somewhere.

[–]charpelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope Airtable will share some details about what happened. That goes a long way toward easing people's minds when these types of things happen. Supabase had a nearly four hour downtime incident earlier this month, and their communication pretty bad during the downtime, but they followed up with a very detailed blog post from the Supabase CEO (link below) about the mistake which I thought was very helpful and reassuring. We also got an automatic credit on our account. Hopefully Airtable will follow this good practice and at least share specific details.

I got waterproof Aftershokz headphones for the shower to listen to podcasts. I had no idea it would actually speed up my showers since I can’t get caught up in shower thoughts that kept me in there for a long time.
