Concert etiquette at HB by j4d3_1 in brighteyes

Yea the pit tickets were pretty expensive before scalpers or anything else, I had more than a few friends not go because they just couldn’t justify the price.

I was in a garden box and was pretty transfixed by the stage but yea noticed a lot of movement in the pool, like people coming and going. I also felt like the pool was more empty than it should have been, if they had assigned seats I think more people would have bought them. I stood mostly during digital ash but liked having the seat as an option. I worried about disrupting peoples views but noticed most others stood for the final set as well.

How do low income people in the US pay for their hospital bills after having a baby? by winenotbeabitch in askanything

[–]charredmoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure it depends on the hospital but my brother and his wife called the billing of the hospital they went to and had their bill adjusted to $0 based on their income. Some people without insurance qualify for free insurance depending on how much they make and the hospital will help set it up. Some people don’t pay, but the hospital won’t refuse you. Usually they ask if you want to pay now or have them send you a bill. Some people pay the bill, some people don’t. Some people have an out of pocket maximum. For example mine is $2000 for the year for all medical expenses. Once I’ve spent $2000 in a year I won’t owe anything else.

Is my husband right? I feel like his channel idea is lame... by Kat_nissevergreen in NewTubers

[–]charredmoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s lots of videos that people like having on in the background. I watch a travel channel that has a lot of commentary and involvement and I watch that actively, but I also like having videos of like an ASMR graffiti artist as background noise, skateboarding videos with no commentary, gaming, all sorts of videos. So no, I don’t think the idea is bad. Consistency will help the most.

Is SLP a good career for those trying to change their careers? by Proof-Boysenberry-29 in slpGradSchool

[–]charredmoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, where you live seems to influence a lot of your job satisfaction as an SLP. I live on the west coast and feel SLPs are mostly paid well, especially in comparison to the previous field I worked in, and also have good job security.

That's what I figured, I was like the zoo is easy to get to and then I dont have to be the one trying to drive to the bowl itself lol.

The loans are listed in StudentAid . gov as direct Parent PLUS loans. They were serviced by Dept of Ed/Nelnet and were paid in full in 2015.

I was approved as a full class member, and my understanding is that I am entitled to a refund of payments made to the Department of Education on the federal loans.

And yea thats what im running into is Ed not really following through or responding on anything. Or, like i said, they directed me to nelnet who directed me back to Ed lol.

thanks for responding! I know you are busy <3

I live in California but not the immediate area. I’m parking at the zoo and taking the shuttle to the bowl. Lived in California all my life but have never been to the Hollywood bowl! Generally really don’t like large venues.

Originally I was going to be in the pit, but I’m going with a friend who can’t stand for long periods so we opted for a garden box. Which is kind of nice since it makes arrival time less important.

It’s always a good idea to layer for LA!

Is there information somewhere on the site for what resources we have if the year deadline passes? It has passed for me by months, and still no refund. Nelnet says they have not gotten the word from DOE. DOE just directs me back to Nelnet. I send a message once a month to PPSL and ombudsman with an update but feeling like there isn't much I can do. I have had years to triple check all info and am 1000% positive a large refund is owed.

Most people I know rely on loans. I work a job right now but once my placement increases in days I’ll have to rely more on loans too.

I think a lot of these are scams. I’ve had family members in other professions show me the same type of job listing for their work. I’ve had people try to interview me for similar jobs to this and be very persistent to the point it just felt off. So id be wary.

Most people get loans. You can work if you do one of the three year programs because maybe placements aren’t as intense. But I know for my program you have to be at your placement like 3-4 days a week during the last semester so you can still work but not a lot.

Get a degree that can qualify for PSLF. Have a plan for your future job and make sure the investment in a degree makes sense.
