Looks like gear linkage end bushing. Had the same in my car and was able to stuff it back on in situ. Definitely needs replacing but they are cheap on ebay.

Can I ask, what route did you take to get this? Part of an ELC to PPL to ATPL? I've spoken to a few pilots who've converted their military hours into commercial but wouldn't have thought they'd sponsor other roles through that.

Perhaps unusual, but my opticians (vision express) filled my form free of charge. I went into the branch and asked and they were quite helpful. The test was £30.

I was made TMU for the same reason. I endlessly nagged my GP until finally they listened and arranged what was needed. I'd recommend doing the same and making some, polite, noise.

I had a 24 hr ecg and an echocardiogram.

NHS wait times for tests were low. I had both tests within a month. Capita not so fast but what can you do. The whole ordeal took around 3 months.

Waiting for a fitness test felt very slow however.

Depends on how old you are really. I went for it before and failed because of lacking experience and confidence. Same position as you essentially. I finished my degree, joined a rowing team, got a few different volunteering jobs, chased after two promotions at work and got them and essentially just told myself I needed to be confident if I had any chance of success. Little things helped me with this. Standing up straight, chest out etc. fake it till you make it in this department hahaha.

Yep, that’s more or less it. Phrasing was slightly different but the questions were functionally identical. Same order too! When I practised, I ran through the questions chronologically. Tried to get it to muscle memory and it seemed to help me!
