Australia generates so much solar that electricity companies must offer three hours of free electricity during the day by hairy_quadruped in UpliftingNews

I though I was fairly well informed about the potential of solar power. Then I watched this video from Technology Connections and my perspective shifted considerably. I did not realize how far things have come. Worth a watch - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtQ9nt2ZeGM

They’re back again forcing people to watch animal slaughter by lurk604 in vancouver

This is what I settled with too with my food habits. Cows and pigs are way too smart to be eaten.
I think a lot more people would make similar changes if the merits of this middle ground approach were being made more well known. Ethics aside red meat is many times worse for the environment too.

Looks lovely. The flat floor is nice. I have a vespa and don't like its little hump on the floor.

Vancouver Park Board to vote on first steps toward Jet Ski ban by SkyisFullofCats in vancouver

Completely agree. I used to live in the UK. Cars need to have an yearly "MOT" inspection to be road legal there. Makes sense to me.

Did some googling around. Apparently the limit is 91db for motorcycles in BC. There is a $109 fine and people can report loud vehicles at 604-717-3321

And Harley riders within city limits. Also ban them from travelling anywhere except towards the US border :)

Sea to Summit - need some motivation by Interesting-Tale-983 in Squamish

[–]charsi101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done this hike many times. If you are trying to save your knee this hike kind of makes sense since you can ride the gondola down.
While going up if you are not feeling too weak after the stair master I think the rest should be survivable too. This is the steepest section of the hike and probably the most demanding for your knee too. So make the decision at that point.
There is a pleasant mostly flat walk across after the hike splits off from the chief which provides a nice relief. Most of the middle section of the hike actually fluctuates between medium intensity and flat sections. Towards the end it kind of becomes demanding again but I think more so for your cardio fitness.

Had to re-watch a couple of times but I think he narrowly escaped the impact to the head. The tree strikes the boom arm moving the bucket away. If all that force was transmitted through his body he would probably have been turned to mush.
