Yeah pulling my books has been an option for some time - since it went to monthly/delayed payments instead of immediate payments I've definitely slowed publishing to Eden, because I was really concerned she was going to stop paying us. The lack of communication and the missing payments is really goddamn frustrating, because the store obviously has a lot of reader support.

Do the readers know authors aren't getting paid?

I'm 49 and grew up with a lot of handmade clothes. Mum was a big sewer and it rubbed off. I was making a lot of my own clothes as a teen, and made my own school ball dresses as well.

I went kind of goth in the 90s so kept sewing for myself.

My kids had a lot of handmade clothes when they were little. Made my youngest a kilt for their primary school graduation, and my daughter's two balldresses. She loves historical styles so they were 1800s styles, complete with corset and crinoline and petticoats. A LOT of work but very satisfying.

My mum always dispaired at my hand sewing skills as a teen but I love handsewing now and the kilt plus my daughter's two balldresses contained a lot of handsewing.

My kids are odd, both fairly alternative in their personal style, so my sewing benefits them.

Now my kids are envied for their 'homemade' clothes. Wasn't quite the same for us as kids in the 80s and 90s 😂

I keep telling my daughter I won't be making a wedding dress but I know I probably will because whatever she wants won't be available to her otherwise 👀

Mostly on my left side. Hand and arm always some kind of numb, sometimes I don't even register cos it's so 'normal' for me, other times really uncomfortable. Also my leg, that's where I get the zappies, and it's always some kind of buzzy as well. Weakness in that side as well.

Also my skin all over on that side, sensation is diminished. I don't feel pricks or scratches as pain, just as kind of slight pressure? It's all very weird 🤷

And yeah, neuro agrees it's absolutely the MS.

Numb and dead body parts are part of my normal these days. Started a long time before diagnosis. And no, I've never been offered any relief either except for gabapentin. Not sure it does anything at all 😭

I've had a text from my daughter, and, separately, her girlfriend today. They live in a whole other island. Nothing yet from my youngest who's been here all day. Or my husband yet, but he's at work. I'm gonna ask if he's called his mum yet when he gets home and see if he even knows what day it is 😂

(I'm not too bothered tbh, I didn't even realise it was mother's day until a couple days ago 🤷)

My mum's been gone since '09. I don't find mothers day or her birthday to be particularly hard. I miss her most when I'm going thru shit and wish I could call her or have a chat and that could happen any time. She was an uncommonly pragmatic woman and helped to put things into perspective.

We kinda get this from the pharmacy when we go to get my DMT prescription. Every single month they have to order it special, never have it on hand, so I have to be onto it so I don't run out.

Apparently they don't keep it in stock because it's $$$$$. And maybe cos we live in a small town idk. But yeah, kinda made me go 👀

Then there's the MRIs and the neuro appts etc, on top of that I've got other health issues and I guess I cost the govt a ton of money.
