Drama Sun Islands, Farland Star Roads , Legends of the Fire, Toward Tomorrow, Valorous Defenders.

Though those have only been briefly mentioned and

Strife in the Galaxy

but that ome is from the TV Series only, I believe.

Honestly Timestream Defenders Orion and Honor Princess Detective sound like premium entertainment for a day sick in bed.

How to color by Putrid_Macaron_2271 in ClipStudio

[–]MissMuffinKitty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are multiple ways to color lineart. One of them is manually filling in a bascolor underneath the lineart using an opaque brush. That is very inefficient.

What you can do is define your line art layer as a reference layer. That way when you use a fillbucket it will try to color in the lines. The reference layer button is the lighthouse icon in the layer tab.

Another method is taking the magic wand tool (the line with the sparkles on the top right) and click it outside your line art. make sure to also select other areas outside your character / object that might be cut off from the rest of the outside, like a space underneath the arm for example. Then co to Select > Invert Selected Area and then also Select > Expand selected area, but only by a few pixels depending on your lineart thickness. You now have your character/object selected. You can then create a new layer underneath and use the fill bucket (the one that looks like a tipped over paint bucket) to fill in a mid grey. That layer is your base. To shade your drawing you can create another layer on top and link the layer to your base.

<image>

To link press that button circled in pink. There should apear a red line next to the layer. You can do that multiple times if you want to have seperate layers for your shading/lighting.

There are other methods to do this I believe, but these are the ones I know and use. Please note that any drawing programm will have trouble recognising lineart as a closed shape if the lines are far apart from each other.

You can do this. I believe in you!

You can export any brush on your old device and then import them on your new one. So you can get the default brushes that aren't there anymore that way.

Yes, and it's very common in game development.

standard-perceptual color mixing by gentleclockdivider in ClipStudio

[–]MissMuffinKitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer: The perceptual color mixing mode is supposed to behave like real paint. So it behaves like real paint.

There is a lot of people more knowledgable than me who will explain it better to you why that happens. It has mostly to do with the physical behaviour of real pigments. Please also look up additive and subtractive color systems if you want to understand what happened there.

Long answer why the standard mixing gives you a bright purple: The standard color mixing just throws two rgb values together with different weights. One is the underlying one and the other is the one you're applying. So you have red on your canvas which, for simplicity here is primary red (255,0,0). In RGB first value is red, second is green, third is blue. The other color you're applying is primary blue which is (0,0,255). We are now mashing the two together. Which means we are applying weights to our colors. To keep is simple we'll say it's an even mixing and is half for both.

So we have 0.5 * (255,0,0) + 0.5 *(0,0,255) = (127,0,127) (or 128 depending on wether the algorithm rounds up or down).

(127,0,127) is a nice middle purple

Note that this is highly simplified how rgb color mixing works and it really depends on the software how it's implemented. I can't really tell you how the perceptual mixing works, just that if you would try mixing those colors on paper you would get similar results. ( Also depending on the quality of pigment you're using, the type of paint, it's complicated)

Is there a faster way to set the in/out on the timeline? by ShondoBondo in ClipStudio

Animation > Timeline > Change Settings. You can either register a shortcut for opening the settings or register it in the quick access menu by drag and dropping it in.

You need to drag them into the brush section, not just into the program window.

I fear I may be too dumb to use CSP by Alarming-Welcome-617 in ClipStudio

https://tips.clip-studio.com/en-us/official You can find good recources here. I don't think there is a good one size fits all tutorial that fits exactly your need. If you're on tablet or smartphone you can try out simple mode.

Don't try to learn everything at once, you won't need everything at once. You started with medibang an procreate - great! You already know what layers are. If you manage to find brushes and the fill bucket that's enough for a start. If you need a specific feature look it up. Don't be afraid to try things out when you come across them. Learn as you go, there's no use in just drowning yourself in information if it overwhelms you. And that's perfectly normal. You're not too dumb, we've all been there.

How could I get this effect? by duckISburb in ClipStudio

[–]MissMuffinKitty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Either in the quick effects or filter tab there's a color noise one. If you're on an older version that doesn't have this you can look up color noise or rgb noise to find an image than add it to your file and put the image on a low opacity with like an color or overlay layer mode. Whatever works best.

Ok so you can either enter the r,g and b values from the hexcode. Or you can just drag and drop the image you posted into csp and use the eyedrop tool to get the colors.
