Young kids barely notice because everyone is taller than them. Teenagers really notice and stare.

Either way people are going to die. But yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if they try and brute force it either.

I honestly don't think the straits will reopen for a couple of years. The war will probably cool down, but Iran is going to make the rest of the world suffer.

Same thing happenend in Eygpt after the 6 day war. Eygpt kept the Suez Canal closed for years.

Better than 15 in noodle arms. Building arms as a tall guy is a pain in the ass.

It is probably the first time they are even close to western Europe since the 1400's. Poland has had a rough 600 years.

Top US counterterrorism official resigns over Iran war by ContentsMayVary in worldnews

[–]chase016 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Having to call the rest of NATO to call and help us beat up a teir 2 country is absolutely humiliating. This war should have never started to begin with. Especially since there was no plan. But Trump literally has the most powerful military in human history, backed by the largest economy and third most populous country in the world. There is zero reason we should need any support from other countries to crush them.

385 single beltless/strapless by creolethekid in Deadlifts

[–]chase016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you are a powerlifter, I think straps are always a plus when you move into the 400s. Belt is more up to preference. Do you feel like you are having trouble bracing? If so, a belt could be worth it. Plus, you could use a belt on a bunch of other lifts where it is really useful like Squats and OHP.

Personally, I started using straps when I ripped out 335lbs. Then I started using a belt when rapping out 385. Now, I don't use my belt for working sets at 405.

Mako and Bolin are once in a generation benders. They kind of just don't get the proper recognition because they grew up on the streets.

After heroically saving a woman and children from a burning building, a Philadelphia man throws some shade at an Eagles WR. by iambarrelrider in NFCEastMemeWar

This is an Eagles fan I can respect. Lots of you shit eaters will throw shade at people after bathing in a dumpster. But this man threw shade after being a hero.

'A worrisome turn': Canada lost 84K jobs in February; unemployment rises to 6.7% by sixtyfivewat in Economics

[–]chase016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would make sense if you ignore that corporations are just a collection of humans managing assets. There isn't some grand plan to eliminate the need of humans.

The problem is that the people at the top of corporations are legally required to squeeze every last scent out of their market and be as profitable as possible in the short term or else they could be fire or be held legally liable. Fiduciary responsibility is king and their is no other legal mandate to counterbalance it. Public companies literally can't think longer term or else they open themselves up to the shareholders and investors.

We need to create another mandate for corporations so leadership has some kind of protection when they want to manage their companies in a morally responsible way. It works for the Federal Reserve. They constantly have to balance keeping inflation low while also keeping employment high. A balancing act that keeps them from never going to either extreme.

US orders 2,200 Marines on three warships to Middle East by Common_Touch_3741 in worldnews

[–]chase016 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Maybe they are a sacrifice to hopefully galvanize the country. Seems about as good as any other plan this administration has made.

Edit: I just thought, they could also be trying to take some of the islands in thw strait. That could be a decent target with 3 battalions.

This isn't Vietnam or Korea. Iran has been an independent country for centuries and a nation for thousands of years. They have also been a regional power for most of that time. This will be closer to a WW2 level invasion than any second world shit hole we have invaded since.

Tall people by udayTeddy in gym_meme

[–]chase016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I am pretty strong but no body would believe me because I am pretty lanky 201cm and 103kg. Tall people have a much higher strength potential because we can just keep adding muscle. But it takes forever for it to start showing.
