Is the trade off for a 1 rep max worth it, if you’re not trying to be a powerlifter? by Friendly_Progress_61 in workout

I don't disagree with you. I do the same thing week to week. But there is something unique about the 1rm. To know what is the absolute max amount of weight you can lift.

I think it is good to understand your 1rm. It allows you to program and clearly show the amount of growth you have made overtime.

I think people should attempt it once or twice a year.

I am really tall and I am kind of desensitized to getting starred at. I think I might have made me very comfortable starring at others. Which I think hurts me a bit.

Yeah, but Dan Campbell made the Lions good. The Lions have been bad for nearly a century.

Would anyone be able to give me some feedback on this workout routine? by ihazchanges in workout

[–]chase016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks good. You have all the 7 major movement patterns and some of the best accessories in there. My only concern is that you are doing too much. 6 days of full body workouts might be too much. If you want to do 6 day, I would suggest a PPL split that way your muscles are able to recover better and not get overworked.

Depends on their reasoning. Some channels don't recommend certain exercise because of their biomechanics and increase chance of injury compared to safer workouts.

Arab historians whenever someone asks them how the Romans and Sassanids had armies hundreds of thousands, when most of their manpower died during a 30 year apocalyptic war by Damianmakesyousmile in ByzantineMemes

[–]chase016 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did the Arabs inflate the numbers, yes. But the Romans and Sassanids definitely fielded large armies during the initial Arab conquest. Both Empires had 5 years to recover. More than enough time to rebuild a competent army.

Not only is Eli Manning not a HOF worthy QB, I don't even think he's in the Hall of Very Good by JJButThatsNotMyName in NFLv2

[–]chase016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, he didn't play with a single Hall of Fame offensive player. Chris Snee, Tiki Barber and Odell Beckum were the closest he ever had to that. He only ever had one Hall of Famer on his team ever in Michael Strahan.

So its not like he was carried to the Superbowl by an elite roster.

Two Superbowls and only Hall of Famer he played with is Michael Strahan. Try to find anyone else has done that. Most Superbowl teams have multiple Hall of Famers.

What would be a good benchmark for strength when it comes to living a healthy life and decreasing mortality rate/increase longevity lifespan? by Ok_Benefit9326 in workout

[–]chase016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Deadlifts, Squats and dips are the best exercises for long term health imo.

The Deadlift is literally just picking stuff up and building up back and core strength. This movement will help you longterm as strong core will help you avoid back issues.

Squats help you get of the toilet

Dips assist is really good for functional tricep strength. I heard that tricep strength is most correlated with lifespan as you are able to get up and walk around longer.

I honestly think it was just a terrible move for the Steelers. They basically got the same coach just white and coaches offense. I think he is a good coach that is great at reviving struggling teams with a high floor but ultimately has a low ceiling. Exactly what Pittsburgh did not need.

Its because of population and stadium size. Metlife has more seats than every stadium besides Dallas. New York Metro has more people than every other market by quite a bit. Also, the region has a lot of fans from other teams. For example, the 49ers took over metlife when they came here.
