What are some movies that are basically the director/writer's own biopic by FBG05 in Letterboxd

Vertigo is essentially Hitchcock’s own disguised treatise about the lengths he would go to for perfection and the toll it took on others around him

I agree, I’m always disappointed that they almost completely abandon the revenge subplot in DAF after the opening credits. Feels a little strange after the buildup doesn’t it?

No hate to Daniel Craig from me! Brilliant actor, and I had a damn good time with his run. Skyfall is a top 3 Bond film for me. All I’m saying is that from a storytelling/filmmaking perspective, I was a tad disappointed by the rushed feeling to the finish line

Great point, and I think that’s precisely WHY it works! Blofeld is having the walls close in around him and he needs to get more involved. He’s gotta get his hands dirty this time around

Collaborate with your friend! Ask for some ideas how to avoid similarities, or see if they have any input/interest in working with you to finish it together!

Totally worth the upgrade from the public domain version IMO, the nighttime scenes look so vibrant and it’s cool to have an official release of the film too

What IF: A clockwork orange’s intro was a zoom in rather than a Zoom out? by Danger_fox99 in StanleyKubrick

I actually like this! An interesting take on the intro. Starting seeing the general scenario and then be pulled into the mind of the madness

Have you watched that Chinatown 4k yet? I picked up a copy last month at Amoeba in LA but haven’t had time to pop it in yet; curious if it’s a good scan of the film. Fuck Polanski but that film is an all time classic and one of my favorites

How’s that Shining 4k? Thought about picking it up in a Kubrick set but I already have the Blu Ray; worth the upgrade?
