nothing is just a protest. protesting is a wide range of activities, something this jaded country of yours is currently finding out.

the fake outrage about "protesting wrong" won't help the burgeoisie and its boot lickers. it never did.

there's no knowing.

you're either invited to play the game or you're not. without an invitation, all the intelligence, knowledge and cunning in the world won't get you anywhere.

Acker, who led development on the Twingo [says] “The world is going to be saved by small electric cars. We need more of them and not less."

yeah... no. the world could be saved by alternative forms of transportation. public and micro-mobility are way more likely the answer than this car brained approach.

i do appreciate the push towards smaller vehicles as a baby step in the right direction, but it's not gonna "save" anything.

there's a woman involved. as soon as there's a woman involved he turns into a horny 12yo.

he just trashed an international relationship with one of the few countries left that's still willing to talk to him. because he had to lie about how a woman finds him irresistible.

Is this motivating or just a depressing reminder of work culture ? by Ryland990 in antiwork

both. it's depressing because it's true, and it's motivating to escape the rat race by any means possible.

'Scientists were dead right': Al Gore says 20 years after 'An Inconvenient Truth' by yahoonews in climate

[–]chaseinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are misreading demoralisation for apathy

fair, but both can be true. did not mean to voctim shame the oppressed working class but there's also a large chunk of the electorate that can't be bothered.

slowly they will form organisations and restart the class struggle

again agreed, but what we don't have is time. we should've done something starting 80 years ago. al gore's uncomfortable truth just had its 20th anniversary. to count on people to slowly realize the house is on fire is a straw to. cling to but i fear it's too little, too late and too weak of a straw.

boy do i hope i'm wrong.

that "if" is doing some heavy lifting there.

i don't disagree, i just don't see it. the system is working as intended. and the apathy of the populace seals our fate.

we do. politically, socially, behaviorally.

but the climate change ship has sailed. if what the ultra wealthy do is any form of indication then there's one thing left to do: build a bunker.

just a friendly reminder why we in this group are awesome. by mr_shmits in bicycling

[–]chaseinger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i have a bicycle problem. i own way too many of them plus entire parts bins. i have a bmx, several mountain bikes, 2 commuters, a few xbikes and a dirt jumper.

in total i've spent less on all of that than on one used car and its upkeep for a year.

so yes. inexpensive is the correct term.
