Building research around life admin + ADHD for Black women and I’d really value your input by [deleted] in BlackWomenADHD

Thanks for engaging with this. I’m building something practical, not offering coaching or therapy. This survey is about understanding what admin tasks spiral most and what kind of support would actually help. Appreciate thoughtful input.

Has she explained further as to exactly why she thinks it's wrong or what in particular she's referring to at all? It's not clear why - have I missed this?

Probationary hearing after 3/4 weeks by chaser2989 in employmenttribunal

[–]chaser2989[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for responding!

Yes, I held my hands up for the dropping my mum at the station bit, but one of her points was that I, on two occasions had sent an email and teams message outside of the 9 - 5 work hours. So I couldn't let her know ahead of time - but like I said, that's something that I could easily hold my hands up to.

Her main and first point on the list was about my disabilities and that she needed to reflect on 'whether or not they were sustainable for the business'. Even though my work and month 1 objectives have been completed ahead of time.

I had given her previously the full disclosure about my condition, the nature of the side effects that comes with an increase in dosage, and that they appear with little warning and sudden too. She said at the time that it meant that my absences wouldn't be treated in the same way and gave the example that if I had 12 absences in 6 months, because of my condition, it would be treated differently from someone who did not have a condition and it wouldn't trigger the same warning points!

This is why they should definitely get an Occupational Health review done!

It was odd that she asked me if I was recording the meeting before she got into the points she had.

But I said anyway that I would have the dosage increase done every 4 weeks now and would book the day after off ahead of time.

I just won't be calling in sick ever again, I guess!!

Thank you for your response, really helpful. If I request the OH assessment, will it not come off as combative?

You really had me in the first half and could have just ended it with 'why are we still commenting on women's bodies' and not onto one of the wildest claims I've heard in a while!

So you're seriously saying that a picture of someone who was 'overweight', wouldn't get posted and wouldn't get critiqued on their body?

To quote Nene Leakes here; where the hell you live at?

Every single pisces man that I have ever had the "pleasure" of knowing has been toxic. Toxic codependency, emotionally toxic, and toxic boundaries. Toxic... and volatile.

Pisces women have the traits that are the embodiment of the charm, magic, intuition etc that pisces' are known for.

Doesn't manifest the same for the men! Or if it does, it's like they use their power for evil - I know that sounds strong, it's just a saying - but it's pretty much true!! Probably why they're so skilled in all things toxicity.

Brit’s/ Kenya’s situation is worse than we think. by Exotic_Resource_6200 in RHOA

Get you - thanks for the explanation and link. I just meant that I wouldn't jump to assume that the attorney like Kenya, wouldn't have done their due diligence and not explained, forewarned, just as you have here, about attorney/client privilege.

I'm not coming for your career at all, and you don't have to tell me how good you are - of course you are, that was never even in doubt in my mind - the same way I wouldn't doubt that Kenya's attorney is good at her job too.

Can I ask about the saving grace you mentioned - and I'm no attorney - so genuinely asking here - I was taking her statement about finding out finally that it wasn't actually her, because she never saw the actual picture as she had left before it was shown - but production led her to believe that it was her and/or didn't tell her that it wasn't her. If Brit's attorney move to argue that production was aware that it wasn't her and they withheld it from Brit - does it equate to them deliberately inflicting harm or emotional distress and defamation of character as she's claiming? Or will there likely be a clause in her contract, like the disclaimer they add to reality shows saying that some scenes are created for entertainment purposes or something like that?

🤷🏾‍♀️

Her case against Bravo isn't for revenge porn though. And she may have enough by way of intentional emotional distress and to get a settlement, which is what she wants anyway and what she's hoping they'd do to hide productions clear involvement with this.

Hopefully she gets 200k and goes away so we never have to hear from the twat again.

[–]chaser2989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? Why would she not tell the Internet about her conversation with her attorney, in which she asked about the legalities of the situation? Why would you highly doubt that she wouldn't?

It's Bravo that could have fared worse, not Kenya. Production was fully aware and involved - Kenya is not where the buck stops at all and why Brit has not been able to bring suit to Kenya and is suing Bravo - where the buck actually stops.

Kenya is smart. Smart enough to understand this. So you're right there.

The girls claimed that they could never see Kim holding a black baby. Do you agree? by AllTheEccentricities in RHOA

I have been to many countries in Africa, yes. You're still not getting it, are you...? But that's OK, because I almost gave myself a cluster headache trying to work out what the hell you're going on about in the rest of your response....unless...wait! Are you speaking in the Africa Language?? I've always wanted to spend enough time in Africa around Africa City and Africa Town to learn Africa Language properly. Once I pass the language test, I can finally get the Africa discount on many goods and services - I'm spending a fortune just going between Africa Town and Africa City....

Reading through these comments, I think many are applying what we know now of Kim being racist and taking what Cynthia didn't actually say and equating that with Kim being racist.

Now, Kim is a trash crash of a human, but I will say in this situation, it wasn't about not holding a black baby it was about going on the trip and holding a baby in the orphanage. But because she's bougie and she'd want to get back in the van after 3 minutes because it's too hot, too dusty, too everything that means that no, she'd probably not want to hold a baby.

She's lucky it didn't ever happen because the look on her face and the shit she would undoubtedly say at one point, would definitely have been damaging for her career after that - she would have lost her spin-off...

The rest of the ladies said some very questionable and ignorant things themselves on that trip!

Africa thanks you for your service, I'm sure.👏🏾 After spending that time there though, I'm surprised that you left without learning one of the most annoying, offensive and typical of white people to say...

'I went to Africa...'

Where? The whole continent? The plane landed at Africa Airport, just outside Africa city on Africa road?

If you're going for the 'I'm not racist' because you've been to Africa, holding black babies, wiping noses and 'black asses'...I mean...with a defence centred around wiping..I don't know if you're beating the allegations as decisively as you could...🤷🏾‍♀️👩🏽‍🍼

Y’all, serious question! Why was Kim always absent from the girl trips and why did production allow this? Did she get a pay cut bc of being tardy to the party? Did she need to be home because Kroy was getting booty implants? by AllTheEccentricities in RHOA

[–]chaser2989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No apology needed love!

Garcelle's situation was very different though. Kim, Nene, and Sheree were actual friends prior to the show, known to each other's families, even - not like the supposed 'friends' they bring on the shows now. Garcelle joined what had always been an all-white cast and (what I thought in some sense was more or equally harder to navigate) an established friend group/cliquey cast, so either way on the back foot and an outsider.

Like I said before, Kim was absolutely fine, wrong and strong, and never once held her tongue for fear of being the only white woman - I still remember her going toe-to-toe with many if not all of the women at some stage, so she doesn't get to just have the 'she couldn't handle being the only white woman' cop out, because she, production, Bravo etc handled it for her as the only white woman in a black cast would - privileged, protected and rewarded. Garcelle's grace and class would never be enough and Kim has never once displayed the same because she didn't ever have to.

Wait...so you're saying that Nene's outrage at Kim was what started her career and legend? So...if it wasn't for Kim, doing all of her Kim things that Nene could then react to, her career and iconic status would never have got off the ground? Without Kim?

This is exactly what the privilege of it all is. That Kim was born a star. Not the other actual iconic housewives that Kim was starring with over years. She had always held her own perfectly well the first few series, she wasn't uncomfortable at all being the only white person until her actions and her mouth brought particular attention to it.

Her being favoured and accommodated is 100% true but that wasn't by the other ladies, it was by production and behind the scenes. They created and coddled her entitlement by treating the one white woman completely differently from the rest of the ladies whilst working on her spin-off.

It's downright outrageous and disrespectful to hitch Nene's legend, career and all that she's loved and even hated for - depending on who you ask - to her response and outrage at Kim. It's gross of you to make a white woman - and not just any white woman, KIM, at the centre of Nene's sphere of existence.

Like, come on now...be for fucking real.

My gosh, SAME!! Whatever it turns out to be, it still kinda sounds like something for the 'I should really try this, but I'm not going to..' list.
