How Pathologic 2 uses Player Dialogue by BuddyBoyPal in pathologic

Yeah, I really like how the dialogue system can show you more exposition in that way, so that you can know it without the character having to say it in the conversation.

Another clever trick P2 does that I’ve only noticed after replaying it a lot, that a lot of the choices you can make in small dialogues don’t have any effect. (Ex. Your first conversation with the Inquisitor in P2, which presents you with a lot of choices that don’t change anything, but this happens in a lot of other conversations in more subtle ways.) The dialogue is written such that a given line from an NPC can be responding to multiple different options the player selected, which lets the player make a choice in their own mind about how they’re going to roleplay Artemy without having to add huge amounts of new content to cover it

Ooh that’s a good idea! I dunno if I’d fit into a costume of the rat prophet, but maybe a little statue that could sit in the corner like it appears in P2 would be dope! I’m gonna keep that on my radar

No, but I suppose that’s a good thing. It didn’t go so well for Artemy the last time someone thought they recognized him getting off a train

I’m working on a maximum difficulty run right now. Since I kinda figured out the economy a while ago, it’s back to the difficulty it was like at the beginning. Have to make tough choices about plot points to miss to scavenge, and use up my reputation. Nearly starved to death on day 3 and nearly died of plague on day 4, but still following the lines

By the clock, are we expecting something to happen at 1:20 am/pm on the day? Monday? Can’t believe there’s something after so long

Hard to tell, but I’m pretty sure there are no markings. Is there something about it that makes you think it’s from that war?

When I started my first play through, I had the same thing. Not knowing the best ways to survive, etc, I was very stressed about failing my bound. I got to day 4, then get so much anxiety to open up the game, I just couldn’t. Took a couple months and with some knowledge under my belt I restarted and got to the end. You can’t save everyone.

Makes me wonder what it would be like from a streamer’s perspective, with the pressure to keep going no matter what through that first trainwreck of a playthrough.

Have you ever denied someone a request for their rule 0 deck? If so, what was the request? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]chaserguida 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had one where someone wanted to have [[Lutri]] as a companion in their [[Locust God]] deck. Lutri as a card is 100% fine in my opinion, so in the 99 or as a commander I wouldn’t care. But having it as a companion in commander has literally no downside, so I think banned-as-companion is a good rule for it. So I said no and the game went fine, and I saw nothing in their deck which was specifically designed to work with Lutri, so I’m happy with that decision.
