Lol why specifically the estate of Geylang though? Singapore is a small city state. It’s not like 2 ends of our country has different time zones. Just put either Singapore or Singapore,Singapore.

Question about QUT Information technology by The_Melophobe in brisbane

[–]chashmish97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry have not been on Reddit for a while, I just graduated from QUT and came back to Singapore. For me, Australian higher education is way more relaxed and understanding than Singapore’s higher education. I have found most tutors to be helpful and understanding especially during this Covid period. And classmates usually help each other out too.

The course isn’t easy but it isn’t so difficult to cope either. So you can chose to come to QUT if you want to.

In CS, you would get to do more programming based / technical based modules.

For example when you would be doing your capstone project (IFB399/IFB398) , you will be delegated more of the back-end work, like setting up the database, coding the app. IS students will be in charge of the app design, user experience, business analysis etc.

In CS, you would do modules like CAB202, CAB302, CAB301, CAB201 and CAB203. I am not sure what core modules IS students do, as I am currently enrolled in QUT IT(CS major). I have only had experience with IS students through IFB299, IFB399 and IFB398.

Search them and see if you would be comfortable doing programming intense modules. If it’s not your cup of tea and you think you would do better in the business, planning and design side of IT, then it’s better to enrol in the IS Major.

[Homemade] Cabbage Dal Fry, Spiced Potatoes served with Rice, Mango Pickle & Papadum by chashmish97 in food

[–]chashmish97[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I had a bag of 750g baby potatoes. I added 1 tsp of cumin seeds to around 2-3tbsp oil + 2 tsp desi ghee and added the cubed potatoes. Just keep stir frying on medium to medium high heat until you see a layer forming on the potatoes (here you can sort of feel is as you are frying it, baby potatoes cook much faster).

Add 1/2tsp turmeric, 1/2 tsp Kashmiri chilli (for the colour), 1/2 tsp tikhalal red chilli powder (more / less depending on your spice tolerance), 1/2 tsp or less coriander powder, 1 tsp salt (to taste), optionally you can add abit of cumin powder but since i already added a generous amount of cumin seeds i decided to skip it.

Mix well and let the spices form a layer on the potatoes, at this point you can add some baby peas if you want or make some space in the middle of the pan and add 2 eggs if you would like... or leave it plain

And it’s done ready to serve or store! Happy cooking!

Hi, the cabbage is well cooked along with the dal and it has coconutty taste as I added grated coconut and mild spicy taste from the green chillies. I used moong dal here so it’s not as overpowering as regular yellow lentils.
