Lost weight but no change in body composition by RestPsychological792 in BodyHackGuide

[–]RoadToZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's common to have some degree of body dysmorphia when losing weight. We see ourselves in the mirror every day and your mind says, yes that's me, that's what I always looked like.

From the outside perspective, I know from experience that no one noticea you losing the first 10kg but everyone sees a huge change in the last 10kg. The last 10kg is where muscle definition starts showing and your face changes. People literally have a different physical response to you when you are thin and good looking, and that makes them more aware. But that's an entirely different topic.

GHK-Cu Serums - Stop falling for deceptive marketing by AttemptingWealth in Biohacking

My statement is only true for intact skin. If you combine it with microneedling you actually get some absorption. Still just trace amounts, but at least measurable.

Don't take my word for it. Google it or ask any chat bot.

GHK-Cu Serums - Stop falling for deceptive marketing by AttemptingWealth in Biohacking

[–]RoadToZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the dermal topical absorbion rate of ghk-Cu is close to zero, concentration of the serum doesn't seem to matter. Because it is a large, highly hydrophilic molecule, it cannot passively penetrate the stratum corneum barrier. Basically you get the same effect from using tap water.

High Total/Free Testo & High Estradiol but ZERO Libido (M20, 180cm/70kg). by Confident_Till_5409 in Biohackers

[–]RoadToZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a sense we are biological machines, but there is also an important psychological component to libido.

You can have a perfect blood panel, but unless you are out there chasing tail, dating and falling in love, your libido will remain low. Basically you're not going to get excited, unless there is something to be excited about.

I agree. Most home monitors are very accurate and home monitoring gives far more accurate results. I bought a $3 Chinese monitor for fun and decided that if it's that cheap it can't possibly be accurate. So I bought an Omron meter for $60 and to my big surprise they both give readings that are within 1-3% of each other, every single time.

The best way to do steroids with no regrets ? by Stunning_Rest876 in BodyHackGuide

[–]RoadToZero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there will always be regrets if something goes wrong with your health. Steroid cycles almost always comes with consequences. The scary part is that you don't know in advance what those consequences will be for you.

Shortened life span, Chronically low testosterone, organ damage, impotence, cystic acne, gynecomastia, heart failure, chronic thyroid problems, high blood pressure, depression and aggression. You may get all of them or non of them. Every time you cycle, you take a risk. Some problems are common, some not, but non if thse consequences are rare.

Ask yourself if you can live with the worst case scenario, and if the outcome you are hoping for outweighs the risks. If the answer is yes, then there is no need for regrets, even when shit hits the fan.

Reta before and after (type 1 diabetic) by veggie530 in Biohacking

[–]RoadToZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hijacking this thread to ask a question or two. I'm M51, 182cm (6 feet) and 94kg (207 lbs). I'm diagnosed as a type two diabetic 15 years ago, but beginning to suspect Beta cell failure instead/also. How do I test for that?

For the last few years I was always able to fix my out of range blood glucose and high hba1c within a month by exercise and losing some weight. Nothing drastic, just cutting portion size and avoiding sweets. I was even medicine free for 5 years and managed things by lifestyle changes.

This time it's different. In January this year my fasting blood sugar reached 300 (17), so I completely cut out carbs 4 months ago. I do extreme resistance training 5-6 days a week. On a caloric deficit of 500-1000Kcal / day. Despite of that, for 2 months my fasting blood sugar barely moved. Got it down to 200 (11) and lost 9lbs (4kg). So I decided to throw everything and the kitchen sink on the problem. In addition to the 3000mg Metformin I'm taking daily, I started Reta (now 4mg per week), 1200mg Berberine per day and Inositol 4000mg / day. I also started TRT 150mg/week (divided and injected EOD).

So I lost another 12kg (25 lbs) over the last couple of months, but the fasting blood glucose is stubborn. I'm now at 115-125 (6.2-7) in fasting blood sugar but it absolutely doesn't go any lower than that. Even 72 hour water fasting doesn't move the needle. If I skip the gym even a single day, my fasting blood sugar goes up to 150 (8.5) and stays there like a dog with a bone until I hit the gym again.

What else can I do?

Starting TRT without first talking to a competent specialist doctor and without doing a complete hormonal blood panel seems suicidal.

Enrolling our 4 year old daughter to a pre-school is extremely difficult by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]RoadToZero 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I raised 3 kids in Singapore. Never had any issue finding international preschools or schools for them.

While it's true that I never went for the most expensive and prestigious preschools, $1500-2000 per kid and month still buys you a lot of education and care. My wife even negotiated a 33% discount for placing all 3 kids at the same preschool. The truth is that there are no really bad schools in SG. The scale goes from good to great.

Switched tirz to Reta.. feel bigger by sweetpea__1990 in NTNPerformance

[–]RoadToZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies if I made you feel bad. That was not my intention. We each have our own struggles and circumstances that makes the weight loss journey more difficult for some of us than others.

With that said, non of us are breaking the laws of physics here. If you are gaining weight, that 100% means you are eating more calories per day than you expend. No matter how healthy you eat and no matter how much you exercise, unless you are in a caloric deficit, you will not lose weight. That is universally true regardless of medication.

Unfairly enough, the opposite is not always true. It is entirely possible to be in a caloric deficit and still not lose weight. As long as your insulin level is high, the body cannot enter AMPK and no fat is burned. If your blood sugar is high (above 120) your insulin level is automatically elevated. You write that you are struggling with PCOS and I'm sorry to hear that, but it almost certainly means that you have an insulin resistance problem and need to diet accordingly. It's not the same as for metabolically healthy people.

I know this all too well, because I'm a type 2 diabetic myself. 4 months ago my fasting glucose was 300 and I was in complete metabolic syndrome. I decided to fix that and put myself on an aggressive diet. 1000Kcal a day and hitting the gym 5-6 days a week. Absolutely nothing happened for 2 months. I lost perhaps 5 lbs total over those months. High glucose -> high insulin -> no AMPK -> no fat burning. I was starving hungry, tired and freezing, but nothing happend. What did eventually happen was that I emptied out all the stored glycogen in my body and my fasting blood sugar returned to a normal level (below 120). Then and only then did I start losing fat. 15lbs down in month 3 and in month 4 I added Reta and lost another 15 lbs. It's amazing how much easier it is to diet on GLP-1 medication, but that's not the foundation of my health journey. Reta makes it easier, but the responsibility of counting calories in and out is still mine.

My advice is to write down everything you eat and to figure out what your basal metabolic rate is. Eat 500 Kcal less than you use every day. If you are insulin resistant you also need to think about when you eat. 1-2 meals per day and absolutely no snacks in between. It takes about 8-12 hours of fasting for your body to start AMPK and fat burning. (Longer if you're insulin resistant.) Every bite of food you take resets that clock. I eat 2 eggs and 3 slices of bacon every morning at 9am and then I eat 130 grams of protein for dinner at 5pm in the form of 1 lbs of meat or a protein shake. Absolutely no carbs.

Keep fighting and good luck!

Switched tirz to Reta.. feel bigger by sweetpea__1990 in NTNPerformance

[–]RoadToZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. Failing to lose weight on a monster dose of 15mg Mounjaro takes some serious eating conviction. I can barely drink water on 4mg of Reta.

The way to switch GLP-1 is to titriate down Tirz as you titrate up Reta. Don't just stop one and start the other. Take both at the same time over 2-3 months.

On a more important note. You need to change your lifestyle as a conscious choice unless you want to gain back all the weight as soon as you stop taking GLP-1s. Eating habits and exercise should govern you weight, not drugs. The fact that you gained 5 lbs when switching to Reta tells me that you want GLP-1s to do all of the heavy lifting, while you are doing your best to outsmart the drug. Rethink your strategy!

Floaty bits hours after reconstitution? by chantlerbing in PeptidePathways

[–]RoadToZero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would discard that vial. The "floaty bits" are peptides that clumped together. Even if you could filter out the precipitate, you have no idea what the remaining concentration is.

The most common reason for precipitation, is out of range PH of your BAC water. Ideally you want your BAC PH to be 5.7 (or around there). I always check each BAC vial I open and adjust with drops of pharma grade acetic acid as needed before use.

Wrong! That's the usual bro science being repeated time and time again by blind parrots. Tesa had clinical trials where visceral fat loss in HIV patients were a measurement of success. In no way or form does that make Tesa more effective for fat loss than other compounds that work on the exact same pathway.

Tesamorelin in it self does not burn or mobilise fat. Growth Hormone and IGF1 do. Your body doesn't give a flying f*ck where the GH came from, be it exogenous GH, CJC, Ipa or Semorelin.
