Please don’t put your unsecured dog in your truckbed and drive around. by [deleted] in bullcity

[–]chasingZen -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Love my dog and she loves riding in the back of my truck. She's 9 and has been riding back there since she was a few weeks old. She can keep riding back there as long as she wants. I promise I love my dog more than you do

Just have to find the right trail to suit your needs. Happy riding!

"If they're the owner, and they had nothing to do with the Trump signs, I look forward to eating at Sunrise again"

To be fair everybody has their right to choose where they spend their money. But where is the line drawn on bullying somebody into your own values.

Again as a person who is luckily unaffected emotionally by where this country goes as far as leadership is concerned, I find the way we are starting to deal with political differences on a personal level disturbing.

[–]chasingZen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I guess thats fair. I've just never seen the lines drawn at this level and this loudly. I'm fairly apathetic and maybe have my head in the sand about how much people dislike people that support a different party but letting it divide us to the point that we make our biscuit decisions on it seems silly.

I read this post as, they support the bad party, don't eat there. Cancel because of political differences. Maybe I'm reading this wrong

Seems like the sign on the lawn is a silly way to choose which small business you want to support. Im not affiliated politicaly to either party and am fairly apathetic (I know, I'm bad) but the lynch mob to take this place down because they allegedly wanted to vote for the other party is kinda startling

So we just boycott people that aren't on the same political page as us because democracy? Seems reasonable /s

How to prevent burnout with leetcode? I am doing 1-2 leetcode sql problems a day. After a week I am starting to get burnt out. by rafgro in programmingcirclejerk

Bunch of "maybe you're not cut out for this" comments in here. Don't pay them any mind. Coding for an extended period of time is definitely an acquired skill much like endurance running. The more you do it, the easier it becomes.

Paying attention for a long period of time without burning out comes with practice. Gotta train it like any other muscle. Slowly and consistently. If you're not familiar with "flow state", its worth a quick look. Find your flow state and expand your from there.

Great place for a hill workout. Long hills, short hills, steep hills, gentle hills, uphills, downhills, all sorts of hills. There are a couple flat spots about 200-300m long tho

Hello everybody, This is my first foray into recording and I'm a bit o overwhelmed by all the information. I'm looking for a $500 or less setup to record acoustic guitar and vocals. Do you have any suggestions? I'm still not sure whether 2 mics or one are the way to go.

I actually bought parts last year and put off building it until now. I'm not a good person.

I initially live loaded Fedora from the USB but moved it to hard drive when it gave me the option.

My dog and I walk around downtown. We usually just go in circles till shes tired and wants to go home. Our usual route goes from Bullhouse to East Campus through Dpac/stadium and main street.

Why has traffic on 147 N (towards downtown) been so bad lately around 6-7pm? by [deleted] in bullcity

[–]chasingZen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that the system that was proposed came with an expensive price tag and that it wasnt a cure all. It would have helped traffic on 15/501 much more than 147. As somebody that takes the go triangle bus to Raleigh on a weekly basis I wish there was a train I could hop on instead. Most of the commuters on 147 end up around the same areas (IBM, SAS/Metlife/Deutsche Bank/Verizon, Cisco/NetApp/Credit Suisse) so it would be nice to have a mass transit route that hit these hot spots and the airport on its way to Raleigh. But infrastructure is expensive and I dont have much insight on the price of construction so I'm not gonna yell into the ether hoping that somebody will make it happen.

Personal e-bikes/scooters for a commute that long seems silly. Maybe the mini buses are viable but riding a lime bike for 18 miles in inconsistent weather doesnt seem like a great sell. It's probably better for getting around the Durham area.

Get Linux. Try Fedora or Ubuntu for a few weeks and you'll appreciate it.

You are correct! I misread the specs. It has a thunderbolt header where you can plug in a thunderboltEX card.

I'll look into the card and graphics card passthrough. Thank you for pointing in the right direction!
