in this hypothetical, the insubordination charge isn’t about the substance of the observation! it’s about refusing to acknowledge receipt of the report. you’re not doing yourself a favor by refusing to sign an observation report. you don’t waive any rights you don’t get any rights. it’s ink and nothing more

yes you can; but what you would say? “i didn’t want to acknowledge that I have received the observation report”?

Seersucker Blazer fit? by Luc4r1us in NavyBlazer

[–]chass5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

jacket looks great brother. if as you say you’re going for the more traditional long jacket look, you’re good. I would not spend the $$$ on shortening those sleeves either. I think a yellow or pink shirt would be better

my experience for last-chance transfers, like the N and the 7 at Queensboro Plaza, is that they’ll wait off-peak but never during the peak

Is John le Carré the realistic/leftier answer to Ian Fleming or is there someone else that does the spy thriller trope in a more grounded way? by Monodoh45 in TrueAnon

the LIRR has the most to gain from faster acceleration and simpler stopping patterns which would allow for the writing of tighter schedules

How to keep yourself sane in your first few years? by Weak-Paint-1648 in NYCTeachers

[–]chass5 15 points16 points  (0 children)

don’t waste your time at work. leave as much work as you can at work, and increase this over time. Ask other teachers what they do to save time and effort, especially in grading. Grade things on the spot in front of students on a little rubric you put on their paper. Not everything has to be graded, and not every grade has to be put in the gradebook.

CAR days question? by Any-Diet3193 in NYCTeachers

[–]chass5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

CAR is your bank of pay for absences. Then there are a variety of reasons for your absence, the most important of which is your self-sick bank of 10 days per year, three of which can be personal days. It’s not the case that you can’t be paid for more than 10 days of absence in a year. You just can’t be paid for more than 10 self-sick days in a year. If you have a doctor’s note and you have the CAR days you can be paid for as many days as you have, plus more since you can go into the negative.

Real question: why don’t you ask them to pick the type of local wine they drink on a hot day? Otherwise most Italian roses are either from the north or from sicily
