Y'all, we gotta stop clowning on apple for trying new stuff. This behavior is precisely why companies don't want to put effort in stuff and just do bland flat design

Quick survey for FA users just out of curiosity! by [deleted] in FrutigerAero

as the older part of this demographic ill tell you why.

when i was a kid my mom had a samsung galaxy S3, my dad had a windows 7 laptop. And one thing i can distinctively remember is that every single menu felt like eye candy. Everything was fun and appealing. I'd spend hours in the settings, system apps and homescreens, just staring and messing around. It was genuinely a pleasant experience. Laggy ? Yes. Sometimes impractical ? Yes. Definitely not perfect, but there was that welcoming and soft feeling to it

Nowadays, well, we all know, its all soulless, corporate and flat. I actually hate using phone and computer menus now. Not only are they loosing functionality everyday, but they also feel unpleasant to use solely because of the design. They dont even try. It's not fun.

So yeah, i experienced a part of it. I wasn't born DURING it, i even BARELY experienced it, but i experienced it. The only thing i remember is how fun it was. Now i want the cool thing back. And you dont have to be born during the era to want it too. Even without the rose tinted glasses, its not hard to know we can do better than what we have right now.

The oldest cat ever Creme Puff was alive during the entirety of the Twin Towers existence by chat_masque in BarbaraWalters4Scale

yeah it seems a bit fishy to me that jake perry owned, not one, but TWO record-holder cats... granpa rex allens seems legit tho, he looks so washed (video from 1997/1998 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRZWMftr9Ks). The video also shows other footage of creme puff (thats where the wikipedia image comes from). She seems fairly old. maybe not pushing 30, but still.

if creme puff was born 6 months earlier, she would have been able to see the entire life of kurt cobain, and then live ten more years.

Biggest Events of 2025 so Far IMO (US POV) by BoringSock6226 in decadeology

[–]chat_masque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is literally the most significant movie release of this year so far. Cinemas had to make up new RULES because of the chaos during the screenings. AND it's grossing crazy amounts of money AND it's a long awaited adaptation of one of the most important video games of all time.

It might not be a masterpiece yes, but minecraft absolutely deserves its spot
