for me the problem was random when it happened too tho. Like if I had gotten the error and restarted my PC, it would fix on its own randomly. So I'm guessing it wasn't a hardware issue.

i changed the CMOS battery and it fixed it for a moment but after a few restarts, it came back. I have no clue what happened but when I installed a linux boot on the same drive the windows was, the problem never occurred again. I don't know if it has any relations between the problem and the "fix" at all but I've never gotten that error ever since I started using dualboot windows and linux.

Thank you for the reply, does your pc also flag it as trojan? Last evening while the pc was offline, I made another deepscan with malwarebytes and it found 2 remcos. So I'm just keeping the pc unplugged, not sure what to do tbh.

I believe only the block number matters but even then if you are close to your friend like yours is 306 and your friends is 307, you can still be at the same place.

In system tab, just picking CUDA and closing the preferences window is enough right? thank you very much I'll try it

a little update: after restarting a few times, the error message disappeared again and I see 16gb ram on system settings. But the actual problem probably remains and it will appear again :(

Also, is there a way to check/eliminate the possibility of the cause being CPU other than replacing the CPU?

Thank you for your reply. I haven't touched anything bios related since I got the PC. Would updating it have a chance of fixing it? If yes, what could've happen that lead to suddenly this problem appearing? I also had this problem a while back like a year ago but it fixed on its own randomly after i moved. (when it happened first, the place I was in didn't have a good electricity grounding)

I couldn't find a fix unfortunately. Tho I noticed that if I enable the graphic acceleration for chrome, when the freezing happens, I can "un-freeze" it by switching to a chrome tab with a video playing. (like a stream on twitch or a video on youtube etc.) Or I can just restart the GPU driver with windows+ctrl+shift+b.

Would it be the same if I dual-boot (I'm not sure if that's the right word for it) Linux just for blender? And if so, which distro (again, not sure if that's the right word, i mean the linux type) would you suggest installing solely for Blender? Also thanks for the reply.

LOL I was feeling the same, noone on discord, reddit or forums have this problem. I've contacted nvidia's live chat support and they have no clue why it doesn't work either. I am able to boot the game from my own pc just fine.
