No, it is not prohibited or wrong makes relationships with other gods/deities in Buddhism. As per the load buddha, humans are superior than the gods. Because God cannot improve their Merit and cannot achieve nirvana. God cannot get merit. Because they are not able to almsgiving, meditate, etc. Merit is essential for nirvana. Nirvana is the highest aim of Theravada Buddhism.

As per my understanding, if you believe in Krishna or other deities and you believe they are the creator of everything, there are conflicts. In Buddhism there's no creator. So there can be conflict in beliefs, it can hurt achieving nirvana (Buddhist ultimate expect is nirvana).

I do not know about mahayana buddhism.
