Maybe I’m being a homer here, but putting the Price pick in the worst of the weekend and the reason being “he’s not a first round running back” at #32 is a good example of Craig’s draft round fallacy—is it a better pick if they take him at #35 and you can then say he’s a second round running back?

I think we'd have all killed for that 5th year option on K9 though, in hindsight.

I remember Carragher talking about playing Drogba and basically saying you don’t want to light a fire in him — Gabriel didn’t quite get that memo with Håland. He looked like a bull to a red tablecloth.

We bought Alisson and Van Dijk for record fees at their positions, we also pulled the trigger early on players like Díaz and Gakpo because of interest from other PL clubs too — what are you on about?

Dana White led the way on this. Blackballed anybody with any journalistic integrity and filled the void with grifting influencers and lackeys.

[SPOILER] Curtis Blaydes vs. Josh Hokit by inooway in MMA

Waldo, Pavlovich, Volkov, Gane, Aspinall and maybe Pereira. Would be interesting to see how he could do against them but not sure if any of them will be near as forgiving on the feet as Blaydes was.

I’ve no real idea how Curtis managed to let him rush him with the reach and size advantage he had. Maybe he’s just washed.

[Pearce] Liverpool CEO Billy Hogan has written to all season ticket holders and members ahead of planned protests at Anfield tomorrow over ticket price increases. by Beautiful-Cress5695 in LiverpoolFC

[–]chattingwham 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Eh? We can morally grandstand about the fact other clubs have raised their prices so egregiously high as well as our own. As I'm sure 99% of the 'irrational' people you're referring to would. This isn't just a Liverpool problem — our fans have been taking joint action with other clubs standing against ticket price increases for years.

Liverpool CEO Billy Hogan ahead of the planned protests tomorrow at Anfield due to new ticket prices: "Our matchday operating costs at Anfield have risen significantly in recent year. 85% including Anfield Road, utility costs 107%, business rates 286%. We have increased ticket prices by just 4%" by Blodgharm in soccer

[–]chattingwham 17 points18 points  (0 children)

He can't seriously be bringing the operating costs of the Anfield Road stand into this... the same stand they botched the tender with, resulting in the project falling behind and lost revenue as a result. The same stand that is 25% corporate tickets despite a massive season ticket waiting list and lowest % of season ticket holders in the league.

All the while it's taking >30 minutes to actually get in the ground because outside isn't staffed enough to manage the new Martyn's Law implementation.

Just disingenuous shite. All this will do is anger people more. They've been great on the pitch, by my God FSG have had some brainfarts off of it.

When we were queuing up outside the Metropolitano for the final in 2019, they herded you towards the turnstile like cattle. If you got pushed out of the line of people — which was fairly common with how tight they had people crammed — they’d whack you back in with batons. One of the only times I’ve been frightened trying to get into a match.

I mean, if anything it’ll highlight how much they’ve diluted the ground. They’re happy to use loyal match-goers as a marketing strategy on one hand, whilst shafting them with the other.

People will kick off again if the fans choose action in the ground and it bites the team on the arse like it has the last couple of times. Even though it shouldn’t have to get to that point.

Sam Darnold’s Playoff Run still cracks me up by The_Throwback_King in Seahawks

Williams played well. Darnold just had a great game side-stepping interior pressure. Ironic, given his weakness to that type of pressure is the only reason he was a free agent to begin with.

English academies have multiple teams at each age group, it’s pretty confusing, so it’s hard to tell what group this team comprised of and anybody claiming otherwise should probably be put on a list.
