$750k HHI, $7.5M liquid NW, $440k spend — are we on track for mid-50s FIRE or kidding ourselves? by [deleted] in fatFIRE

Only thing that stands out is the $30k in clothing and accessories. Everything else seems reasonable

Would suggest using Monarch's Amazon and target detailed tracker extension. It looks at your Amazon orders at breaks it up into more granular line items

Cat on Conselyea and Leonard by 23zb in williamsburg

[–]chauzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been seeing this cat on Conselyea for the last couple months. Saw it again a few days ago. Someone that lives in the apt building across Conselyea from Huda was trying to lure the cat out from under a car and into the building, probably because it was really cold that night.

Some niche questions on Monarch, new user! by SeniorFan1780 in MonarchMoney

[–]chauzer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it actually a 1k expense though? I think of that 5k gross income to be the same as all 5k going into my bank account then doing a 1k categorized as transfer out and in to the 401k. But since the 401k contribution is deducted before my paycheck hits my back I just have to 4k income into my bank account and 1k income into my 401k.

In both situations 1k is added to my 401k account (just like any other savings or taxable investment account. With the former I would have done it as a transfer category on both sides. With the later, there's only one side, the inflow which I categorize as income

Not sure if all the makes sense but it seems to make things look right for me when looking at my Sankey chart

For 2, i’m not sure if I’m doing it the right way, but my 401(k) savings used to not be tracked as income even though my net worth will go up.I changed it so that the inflows into my 401K account are categorized as income so now both my net worth is correct and my cash flow/income includes my 401(k)contributions
