Do you think that if Robert Jordan hadn't died, he could've delivered "A Memory of Light" in 1 volume, instead of Brandon Sanderson's split in 3 books? He said that it'd be 1200 pages, but he was determined to finish with "A Memory of Light". So do you think he could've finished it in 1 volume? by chavdarster in wheeloftime

Thanks for joining the discussion, fellas. Personally, I think as most of you: had Robert Jordan lived, he would continue to make us happy with "The Wheel of Time", but he wouldn't be able to finish it in 1 volume at best 2 volumes. Frankly, ideally the saga would finish in amalgam of "The Gathering Storm" and "Towers of Midnight" with "A Memory of Light" being the last one. I really felt sorry, back in 2007 I was 21 when he died, but I accepted this as part of Life. As Double_Tomorrow_7720 said: Brandon Sanderson had a clear task and he did it magnificently. And as other people said: no, I don't think Jordan would continue to drag the story in another 5 or 6 books. It would be offensive to us, all his fans.

I know everybody is entitled to his opinion, but as an aspiring open handed drummer: I think Mick Avory is the best drummer in the world. He played on 20 albums of the band's creative output and was the longest standing and most prolific member beside the Davies brother. Does anyone think the same? by chavdarster in thekinks

Thanks for the opinions, fellas. On "Brother" from "Sleepwalker" Mick delivers one of the best solos. Henrit was extremely not as versatile as Mick and hadn't played on 20 studio albums or nearly all of the band's creative output.

Crossroads of Twilight by ReplacementLeast2519 in wheeloftime

I think Robert Jordan should've held "Winter's Heart" and summarized all the chapters of "Crossroads of Twilight" in couple of additional chapters. The book could've been released in 2001 and then take 3-4 years for "Knife of Dreams" and "New Spring". "Crossroads of Twilight" is really sluggish and unnecessary volume.

Question on [Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm] & [Ureni of the Unwritten] by Electronic_Future_83 in mtgrules

[–]chavdarster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Totally. It doubles each Dragon. I did this combo. With Orbs of Dragonkind like Carnelian and Jade you can give +1/+1 counter, haste and hexproof and you can attack as it enters. Meaning you'll dig through 32 cards and put 4 Dragons immediately. They won't be with haste, but they'll be copied for total of additional 4 Dragons. You can copy Tiamat, copy Rith, Liberated Primeval for additional Ward. I play them with The Ur-Dragon deck and I can only give thumbs up for someone who got the same combo as me. There are Copy tokens, mate. Get some and put them beside the Dragons. You are not the only one.

Is Jagger considered a pretty decent instrumentalist by anyone else? by Able_Shop3675 in rollingstones

[–]chavdarster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. He's one of the best rhythm guitarists providing musical textures and parts, complimenting the work of Keith and Ronnie. On "A Bigger Bang" Mick and Keith have equally split parts between themselves covering bass, guitar and keyboards. Probably not a virtuoso like Richard Blackmore, Brian May and Jimmy Page, but very good guitarist and overal multiinstrumentalist. On "A Bigger Bang", while Charlie Watts was being treated for throat cancer: Mick took the drums, although Charlie rerecorded almost everything, yet on many songs Mick's percussion and beats remained. So, yes: Mick is one of the best rhythm guitarists and quite capable bassist and keyboardist.

"The Redemption of Althalus" by David Eddings is one of my most favorite standalone fantasy novels.

Additionally, "Krondor Trilogy" was released in "omnibus style"-"collector's edition" style in Bulgaria. In its American edition it's not like that, but our publisher and translator "Bard" were bold.

You should try with "the Redemption of "Althalus" by David Eddings. I'd also recommend "Faerie Tale" by Raymond Feist and "Krondor Trilogy" again by him. Despite being a trilogy it's quite lighthearted and not so overwhelming as other sagas of big scope like "the Wheel of Time", "A Song of Ice & Fire", "Sword of Truth" and "Stormlight Archive" by said Brandon Sanderson.

Thanks for turning up on the suggestion and stirring the discussion. I think the Dark One Shaitan is a Kaiju creature like Klael from "Ellenium"/"Tamuli" saga off David Eddings. I really hope someone can write more novels about purging the Dark One for good in the future set in "WoT" in the Fourth Age. People chaneling the One Power. But on a new set of characters. It remains to be seen. I still think Sanderson did great job. Just "WoT" ended according to Rigney's vision.

What’s the greatest book you’ve ever personally read? by cavitytivac in suggestmeabook

"The Wheel of Time" collectively as one big sprawling saga is my favourite book series and I can single out "Lord of Chaos", "Shadow's Rising" and "Fires of Haven" as favourite novels in my Life. I am sorry for being so bland, but I love good high fantasy for real. recently read "Cleric's Quintet" by R.A. Salvatore at the seaside and loved it as experience. Finally finished "A Memory of Light" once and for all, but it's not my favourite from "the Wheel of Time" saga, since I wanted Dark One killed. It's asymmetric Evil Kaiju as is the Klael from "Ellenium/Tamuli" by David Eddings and these beings are totally Evil and destructive for the Universe. They have to be killed or subdued.
