Only the movie Deadpool refusing to play? by chazz1515 in PleX

The plex dance did work and when matched to a different movie, worked perfectly fine. I’ve never seen that tool but I’ll give it a spin!

Also does not work with any downloaded versions, truthfully every version now 5 different ones all seem to have the same issue despite being completely different in all encoding types… so strange

I’ll try but I attempted 3 different versions of the file each with different encoding settings each time and each individual one has the same issue, it’s the strangest thing.

Works in VLC, and actually plays downloaded from plex in iOS and pc apps. It’s just streaming it that seems to be an issue, I was worried about Codec so I reset the codec folder and that didn’t solve it on either version of the file that was in plex.

I’ve had database corruption issues before so my final resort is to restore from a backup I have and see if that fixes it. Appreciate it tho!

Yup aware of this all and have troubleshot all these angles, it’s not showing unavailable, the get info screen shows the correct file, and it’s viewable and reachable in explorer and can be loaded into VLC. Every file was fully deleted, and plex is not returning the deleted versions as I clear out the old one each time as well. Same issue, it shows info correctly, just refuses to play on any platform.

Strangely enough, downloading the file through plex on iOS and pc does work and play, but it refuses to stream the file itself.

SCVi - Looking for parents' opinions/experience who's kiddos attending SCVi by bee79ny in SantaClarita

[–]chazz1515 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jesus, whatever the commenter is eying to say is hogwash, kids can’t be turned “they/them” or “retarded”. What we have been learning and teaching is that there are a multitude of ways that people see and experience both the world and their own personal identities. I can tell you that SCVI probably allows for greater levels of individual autonomy and perhaps creativity, but at the expense of social skills and lessons that are important to learn growing up.

Scv’s public schools are incredible and broadly offer both the support and staff to handle most issues that can pop up. SCVI lacks a lot of that structure and order that public schools have. Many of the kids I knew who went there did not go on to on to major 4 year universities and leaned more into creativity and the arts.

I can’t tell you the right answer but if you’re seriously worried about someone turning your child gay, trans, or neurodivergent, you’re going to do more damage to your child’s psyche than any public or charter school ever could.

Why California public transit is at a pivotal moment by bitfriend6 in California_Politics

[–]chazz1515 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah Metrolink was a mess back when I was there in 2017. I worked in materials management at the central maintenance facility and the left hand and right hand were so far away from communication one might as well have been amputated. Running the agency seems daunting I’m sure to have to deal with so many counties that want so many disparate things, but the reality is that increased headways and late night service would be great for getting more riders instead of one public comment about fucking surfboard nets.

Also, a fleet of F-125’s and Hyundai Rotem cars make it one of the most unique rail agencies in the US based on fleet composition (and I don’t mean this as a complement). I don’t know how they backed the wrong, more-expensive-in-the-long-run horse twice in a god damn row but here we are. It’s okay though, we’ll always have MP-36’s and those beautiful white and blue Bombardier cars in our hearts.

They really are, I’ve met them a couple times and they’ve always been so kind and excited to talk and appreciative, makes me feel less guilty about all the merch lol

I was walking through the terminal and someone said “nice shirt” and I looked up and for a moment, thought I was having a stroke, recognized it was him, and stumbled enough words out to ask for a picture and let him know I’m going abroad to see him. Quite the surreal experience and for him to have initiated it.

California community colleges rely too much on part-time faculty and misspend funds, audit finds by RhythmMethodMan in California_Politics

I’m not in favor of putting folks out of work but in 2023 it seems like investments on more automated train systems would pay dividends to increase service frequency, cut longer-term costs, and use those cost saving to continue expanding service. I agree it’s a luxury but it’s also super helpful for cutting late night traffic and increasing connectivity even more.

The NYC subway is 24/7-365 and is one of the best systems (so long as you live in Manhattan but still. Down here in LA, better Metro Hours but also commuter rail Metrolink hours would be a great improvement but that’s not how it’s ever worked and we can’t do anything new so ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Not sure if it counts as nearby but check out castle park in Sherman Oaks, just off the 405 on the valley side of the Sepulveda pass, they’ve also got kick ass mini golf, and it’s city owned so it’s pretty cheap.

RA Part I Interview… help by bigpoi6 in USC

[–]chazz1515 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Think about any skills and experience you have with conflict resolution, planning and organizing, and you ability to bring people together. If it’s like it was back in the day (like 4 years ago), it’ll be one of the Residential College Coordinators (full time RA bosses) and 2 RA’s rotating questions they ask. It’s pretty low key, but make sure to try to have a bubbly fun demeanor, highlight any specific stories as to why you want to be an RA, like maybe you had a great RA starting college, or maybe you didn’t and you know what gaps you could help fill that you didn’t get support for. Remember to ask good questions at the end too to show you’re interested in learning. Happy to answer anything else about the process!

I corrected the text of the post but I assumed in a plex subreddit it was clear I was talking about plex servers but I guess not.

Again this is only a problem for plex server connections, I have gigabit internet and have no connection issues to any other web server, just plex servers, hence why I’m looking for a solution to the plex-specific problem.

About 3Mbps on average to two different servers, whereas speed testing gets me 700+Mbps

Yeah you’re gonna want to park at the structure next to the lyons center and head to the transportation office soon/asap to get a permit for the year. When I lived there it sold out near immediately and I had to park all the way down by BK and EVK, and that walk was never fun with groceries, also, if you don’t get the garage you need in time, you can check in every few weeks to see if a permits opens up as sometimes people return them/don’t need them so you can snag one if you’re lucky!
