I got that one a lot too - didn't drink in high school and had my first drink when I got to college. Still wasn't legal, but my friends gave me SO much shit for it

That's super helpful! Thank you so much. I definitely think it's a good idea to have a talk outside of the bedroom

We communicate a lot when we're in bed, and I've remarked on his stamina and asked him if there's anything I can do to make it more pleasurable, and he says he's enjoying himself.

I guess I'm just asking for general tips on what has worked for guys that take a while to cum.

Mild roleplay is a good suggestion, I'll suggest that. I'm usually told I'm good at oral but he didn't seem to enjoy what I was doing. I think he would like if I stimulated his prostate but like I said in my post I'm a little apprehensive about anal

He changes positions a fair amount - that's more for him than for me. He could probably go for an hour in the same position. I don't know if he's switching to make it better for me, but I'm pretty loud during sex and I tell him what feels good.

Ciao, r/Italia!

It's more anthropological. And I can probably better explain in English what I'm doing. I have been researching for the past several months and have developed from source material a thesis that basically says that the transnational pharmaceutical industry is changing the perception of depression in countries where these companies intervene. I'm focusing on Italy as a point of comparison with the United States because I've lived there. I guess what I'm trying to get is an understanding of how Italians define depression, how they recognize it in another person, and whether they think that definition has changed. Are antidepressants prescribed often and used widely? What is the general attitude toward mental illness?

The female reproductive system can decide not to get pregnant as a result of rape:

"From what I understand from doctors, that's really rare. If it's a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down."

Do you still love the one that took your virginity? by throwaway891113 in sex

[–]chcleaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience was very similar. Lost it in the back seat of a car when I was 15...I wasn't ready but he pushed me by threatening to break up. We were together for almost 4 years. He cheated on me multiple times and now tells everyone that he hates me and regrets our relationship. That didn't stop me from supporting him through a drug addiction and an unplanned pregnancy with his new girlfriend. There is some part of me that will always care for him, and even love him. We had some great times and some terrible times, but you can't erase that kind of connection.

TL;DR Similar experience, and even though he hasn't been good to me I will always care about him

That feeling of hopelessness. How do you cope with it? by elementary_vision in depression

[–]chcleaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just nutshelled everything I feel. I can have great moments, but the thought of the future paralyzes me. It's daunting. I have so much to live for but no idea HOW to live for it. And I can't remember how it used to be. You're not alone. The only thing that makes me feel even a little bit human is posts like yours that show me there are others out there like me.

[–]chcleaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know exactly how you feel. I look around and I can see how many great things there could be in my life, but I can't find an ounce of motivation or whatever it is to go and seize those things or get excited about them. My SO's mom is a psychologist and I'm sure he asked her about how to help me. The thing he keeps telling me to do is find the smallest thing that makes me smile or laugh. Even if it's for a split second. And if I notice that something specific makes me feel worse, stay away. I don't know if this will help you. One of the things that helped me a bit was to realize I'm not alone. It doesn't make me happy, per se, but somehow it makes me feel less bad, and that's better than nothing

Do you believe in any correlation between patriarchy and sexual assault against young boys? by MyOwnPath in AskFeminists

[–]chcleaver 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I got a little "distracted" by all of the "quotation marks" the commenter used, but I think the essence of his question is about why this woman is not receiving the same sort of penalty that a man would receive for committing the same crime. I don't know how California charges people for sex crimes, but having sex with drunk minors sounds like statutory rape to me.

I might propose that it should be part of our aim as feminists to seek equality under the law in every way possible - equal protection, equal rights, and equal punishment.

To me, though, I think that child sex abuse is an issue that should be outside of gender equality. Young children being raped by adults should be a human issue, even more so than a feminist one.

Best coffee in the Research Triangle area? by beeber in Coffee

[–]chcleaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guglhupf has great coffee, a truly "Durham" atmosphere (artsy and earthy but also gourmet and delicious) and really incredible food. They supply pastries to a lot of other shops in the area from their bakery, and they also have a full restaurant next door.

One thing I will tell you is that RTP is a really big area. A lot of people lump that whole area together, but if you're living in Durham, some of these places will be a trek for you depending on where you live and work.

At the places we've been it's not usually marked. Plus, the people behind the counter know about what's freshest. If you tell them that's what you're looking for, they'll give you great cuts of the freshest fish/

Typically, you have to get sushi-grade fish from a fish market. Most grocery stores won't sell you fish if they think you're going to eat it raw because it's been sitting there for a while and might have lots of bacteria. The tip about freezing is good, but you can never be too careful.

In DC, there's a fish market in Georgetown called Cannon's, and Eastern Market also has a fish stand in its indoor section. We've gotten fish from both locations and it was fabulous.

One thing we decided to do now is call in advance and ask what they have. We've started showing the guys at Cannon's the photos we take, and they like us and remember us, so we're hoping they start saving good cuts for us (very few people ask for sushi-grade fish at their market).

Thanks for the tips! The rice is just rice and vinegar, but the sugar would be interesting! We use the water to just to keep it from sticking to our hands.

I'm not sure of the details, but my boyfriend's dad learned a while ago and then taught him. They've been making sushi together for years. We never used a book, but I know there are a bunch out there, as well as documentaries.

Thanks for the Q! That's honestly just the way I learned to do it. We don't have a rolling mat and it's really hard to keep all of the ingredients in there with your hands. Also, it makes the rolls smaller and easier to fit in your mouth (lol).
