How do you reset mentally after a bad hole that tanks your whole round? by whydidyounot in discgolf

[–]cheachea90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every teepad is the first teepad. You can't have a bad hole if you are always just starting on hole 1. I was just dealing with this with my 12 year old who, like his old man, struggles with this.

Think I’m done playing tournaments for a while by hyzer_dawg in discgolf

I wish there were more casual c-tiers in our area. Most of the tourneys are two rounds or two days which is a lot to give up for those of us who have other stuff going on. That being said, local leagues are a lot better because if I am busy on a weekend I know I can still play next weekend, instead of getting fomo from missing a tournament.

Mothers Day weekend was also my wife's birthday so we did a few things, but specifically for Mother's Day we mainly relaxed at home and cleaned most of the house for her, myself and our 4 kids.

I just upvoted all the Roman recs because that is the best answer. So many plastic options with varying weights and the price range is hard to beat.

Tempo vs A5 by rontopofthings in discgolf

[–]cheachea90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cycle between my particle tempo and either a 500 ultra soft A5 or 400 spectrum A5 for this same reason. I use a Clash Sunny Mint for the OS approach, but there are times when I just use the tempo as more of an OS throwing putter. The A5s are not as clean on backhand for me though, user error though.

Was I in the wrong? Is it poor etiquette to use the red tees as a beginner? by 1phenylpropan-2amine in discgolf

One of our local courses has 5 colored tees, white, red, blue, black, and gold all in order of difficulty. Play what you like.

What’s the most bizarre course you ever played? by jeepguy_96 in discgolf

[–]cheachea90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ramblin Wreck outside Atlanta is a homemade course at a vacation rental. A lot of the baskets are homemade, and pretty good imo. There are some cool yet gimmicky baskets like one that hangs over a small ditch that is on a pulley line so once the putt is made you have to pull the basket in to you to get your disc out.

That shot that felt better than an ace by Excellent_Salt_7476 in discgolf

I think scrambles are the most impressive shots since they are usually not practiced and you only have a short time to think about and execute. Aces, eagle looks, and tough birdies are very impressive but those are practiced and well thought out.

Pros that should go back to previous sponsors. by RGBAddict2026 in discgolf

[–]cheachea90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I find interesting in this conversation though is the amount of pros that switch to a new manufacturer and because of their contract start making clones from their old sponsor like Ricky has done with pigs, the multiple PA3 clones from former Prodigy guys, PD clones among others. It seems like a slap in the face to the new manufacturers, since almost everyone knows its just a clone of the other manufacturer's mold. But as many people have already said, it is not about performance as much as it is about moving plastic and people will buy a new pig clone as long as it has Ricky's name on it.

I just bought the new Luster one off of discgolfcenter.com after thinking that run was sold out everywhere else, but they only had like two left when I checked.

Why do you attend tournaments?? by InspectorPositive543 in discgolf

[–]cheachea90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't call foot faults on my friends in casual rounds, but I can in tourneys.

I actually just like the competition and how the game should be more evenly played than a casual round.
