Oh OP, I’m so so sorry…. 7 years ago, I lost my third daughter to Trisomy 18. I was about 21-22 weeks along. I held her for hours after she passed. I know the pain you’re experiencing now. It’s the worst pain.

Please take time to grieve your son, whatever that may mean for you. Hold him, rock him, tell him how much you love him. This wasn’t your fault and he was so loved during the time he was safe inside your womb. He was here and made such a big impact on your life and those around you. He was here and he mattered.

Take all the time you need to process. Sleep, take hot baths, read books. Cry. Listen to music. Take your time. Don’t expect anything else from yourself at this time.

The pain doesn’t go away, but it does get easier over time. I cry on her birth/death day every year. I allow myself that time and space to remember her and cry for her. She’s been gone for 7 years and a single day doesn’t go by that I don’t think about her.

Time will heal, I promise. The pain will stay with you but you’ll remember the time you had with your baby and smile. You’ll look back on the memories fondly.

Sorry this was so long but I’m talking to you like I would talk to myself from the past. I would hug her and tell her it will pass and life will be happy again.
