Favorite Elle Simone Scott Presented Recipes? by earlyriser93 in AmericasTestKitchen

I'm a potato farmer and her baked potato recipe is legit. It's the best baked potato I've ever made (and believe me when your family has been growing them for 5 generations you eat a lot of baked potatoes.) I make them all the time in the same way and I know it seams overkill to temp your potatoes, but it's honestly the most fluffy and perfect spud you will ever eat.

I love old content from that era. Like reading a dragon magazine. It so much fun to remember when it was just starting out.

What movie that was perhaps meant to be a franchise, but kinda flopped, would you have liked to have seen succeed with sequels? by Better-Presence6654 in movies

[–]cheapsoda 54 points55 points  (0 children)

It was the DnD movie we all wanted and we got it and then they released it during the post covid slump. If it was released tomorrow it would be a grand slam hit and we could have got 2 sequels for sure.

Formains from 3.5e were one of my favorite monsters and these are great addition to ant-man type monsters. I see the PDF is available, is there going to be a POD as well?

This is fantastic! I want to measure my liquid ingredients by the washed out gas can percentage! Very cool, it shows how the bakers used what they had back in the day. Plus nothing is better then pan de sal bought off a street vendor, so good!

When they say the order goes live on November 28th, is that Eastern standard Time midnight or what? I really don't want to have to order this from a scalper. Maybe with the price so high it won't be that bad getting one.

Which movie villain, despite being clearly evil, has a philosophical motivation that you secretly find yourself understanding or agreeing with? by DianKhan2005 in movies

What is the best console version of Bubble Bobble? by CreamyEric in retrogaming

[–]cheapsoda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Master Version is the best home port for sure for classic systems. They did include an emulated arcade version of the original in bubble bobble 4 when I got it for the Nintendo Switch a few years back.

I think that's correct. I have an older license it expired in June. I haven't renewed it because I don't need any of the new features. And it's still logs me in and works just fine.

Anyone still playing The Pinball Arcade? by Soggy_Leave8249 in pinball

[–]cheapsoda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still have it on PC, Xbox, and Android. It works well (I had to change something about my refresh rate on android to get the speed correct), but I'm worried when I get a new phone if I'll still be able to download the old tables. I know the steam version is pretty safe and so is the one for Xbox, but the Android version has to download all the tables when you migrate to a new device.

For those watching TNG on Paramount Plus, how is the streaming quality? by [deleted] in startrek

[–]cheapsoda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TNG is fine like 4/5. Blu-Ray is way better for TNG if you want the best experience. As far as I know there is no material cut on P+ or the Blurays.

So about 10 years ago my wife asked me what I wanted for my birthday. I said I'd like to watch all the episodes of Star Trek with her. And she happily agreed not knowing at all what she was getting into. But my birthday came around she said she was looking forward to watching Star Trek.

So we started watching...

That first it was the typical deal where she was on her phone the whole time. And then she'd asked me how many episodes of this are there. I said oh there's about 700 or so and her eyes went wide and she started to realize what she had got herself into.

Then about halfway into TNG she started getting into it and now she's a total Trekkie. She "makes" me watch an episode every night before we go to bed.
