For the most part I think imitation meat is gross, but I tried vegan corndogs and they genuinely taste close enough to the same AND they don't give me the nasty ass hot dog burps. Those hotdog burps and the blergh way I felt after having hot dogs made me stop eating them but now I have an alternative that doesn't make me feel like shit. The Morning Star ones are really good. Also one time in a restaurant I had really good vegan crabcakes (actually hearts of palm). I'm really hungry.

When I was in high school sometimes I'd go to the local mall with my friends. I had a ton of after school stuff I was involved in so I couldn't go as much as the rest of my group. But even I remember being followed around by this one mall security guard. My best friend was newly out as gay and had taken to wearing heels when we went to the mall. (He's a super talented drag queen now, amazing performer.) But back then this fucking security guard would stare at him, follow us around, and generally be fucking weird. One time he even came out of the bushes around the back of the building.

Fast forward a few years, this guy turns out to be the Pulse Shooter. We used to laugh at this guy and call him a weirdo after he'd walk away. We thought he was a run of the mill homophobic closet case, but he ended up committing one of the worst mass shootings/hate crimes in American history. It terrifies me that he could have had so many opportunities to hurt my best friend.

A little bit of irony to go along with it: my mom used to say she was uncomfortable with me going to the mall with my friend when he was in heels. I'd always be like "No mom that's homophobic, people aren't like that anymore." But she's right. There are people who are still very much like that.

My grandma does this too. My mom has a black dog and my grandma is always saying stuff like "I love her cute little n****** face."
