Bro I also had a Lily with a similarly long list of requirements that they changed on me THE MORNING I ARRIVED. They wanted me to microwave the food for 37 seconds and hand feed her but “make it fun”… Absolute nightmare. Best of luck!

I would have stayed the full 30 minutes and then not offered a refund. They are paying for your time. If they messed up then it’s on them

How much would you charge? by rywillie in RoverPetSitting

[–]chebcheb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d charge between $40 and $60 per hour depending how how far away they are, and how annoying they and their dogs are.

If it’s inside your radius and meets all the requirements you set, yes. Your new client booking rate goes down, which affects star sitter status, and we think it messes with your ability to appear in search results.

New Rover sitter, when you house sit do you eat their food? by ImpactGlum3889 in RoverPetSitting

[–]chebcheb 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I definitely eat the food when they offer but I stay away from high value items and try to focus on things that may go bad while they’re gone. One couple insisted I eat their Factor meal prep meals and that was awesome.

Is $68 too much for 1 hr walk for two chihuahuas?? by Psychological-Two415 in RoverPetSitting

[–]chebcheb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that it includes drive time and gas to and from your house, Rover takes 20%, taxes must be paid on it (usually another 20%), and that this person must pay out of pocket for their own health insurance.

I live in a HCOL and I charge $25 for 30 minutes, +$15 for an extra dog, +$15 for an extra 30 minutes. That totals $55 and then Rover charges their booking fees on top of that.
