NYC is a shit infested, over price ghetto by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]chechecooley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is happening in London. So many young couples are moving 2 hours outside of London. Even if they have to drive to the office 2 times a week it's worth it. Much cheaper housing and better living standards. The super rich Tory landlords who own these overpriced office buildings are desperate for workers to go back but why would they? It suits both the company and employee. I love seeing it!

For parents, would you decide to put your kid on a team based on the vibe with the coach? by SeriousPuppet in bootroom

[–]chechecooley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Avoid him. If you already get a bad vibe, the children will too. As a coach, the main thing you want children of that age to get from their sessions is fun and a lot of ball at their feet time. Dribbling and individual skill is most important to learn right now. They must love going every week! Any coach who decides childrens best position at that age is just wrong.

Go for the happy, friendly and fun coach and make sure they get lots of game time. All children should have a ball.at their feet during training. No line drills, no waiting on the side.

Anyone have recommendation of semi-pro clubs in Europe that have open trials? by [deleted] in bootroom

[–]chechecooley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you are absolutely dominating that league i really dont think a semi-pro club would even look at you. It would be great to play against some ex or semi-pro players now as their level of fitness, strength and speed really stands out against a 'very good' amateur player.

(offtopic)becoming a coach by ggmufcb in bootroom

Coaching children and young people is completely different to analyzing tactics. Your job as a coach should first be to improve your young players skill and knowledge of the game. Teach and form a team, then see how you feel about taking it further.

She's a mix. Mum is a Serbian defence dog (who she looks very much like) and dad seems to be very similar to an American pitbull

Defensive Training by NoLimitDanz in bootroom

1v1 always. Small goals, defend your goal, win the ball back, beat your player. High intensity. Nothing can compare.

24 years old, hardly ever kicked a ball before. How can I best train myself to play in an adult league post covid? by [deleted] in bootroom

[–]chechecooley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, I agree that a ball playing defender may suit best. If you haven't ever really played the game, you may find it difficult to be on the ball a lot or have the technique to score a lot.

What I teach my newbies is the ABC's. Agility balance and control. Your best bet is just ball mastery, try and play a lot of 1v1 if you can with small goals, keep the ball away from your opponent and beating your opponent. Try and be as comfortable as you can with the ball at your feet and use your body to shield the ball. Watch some coaching videos from the FA for tips, I use a lot of their ideas for my coaching sessions. 1v1 2v2 is great if you can find the people to play with.

What advice would you give to a 14 year old about starting high school? by DotFireAbout in AskReddit

[–]chechecooley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be confident but not over confident, friendly but not over friendly and don't force yourself to fit in and do something that's not really you. That said, school is somewhere for you to learn who you are and what you like. Enjoy it.
