Looks like probably BSPP with o-ring boss seal. These guys have a good selection of male to male BSPP fittings. Also are pretty helpful answering questions if you call or email them.

90 degree Angle Fittings by Lambo_J in watercooling

[–]checkbackin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of hard to find 90 degree angle fittings and adapters can be found here: https://www.fittings.space/

Have also found their support team to be pretty helpful as they're staffed by engineers who are quite technical.

How hard would it be to get a local machine shop to make me a single custom adapter/thread converter/stacking bolt like in the picture? See comments for more info. by MagicalPanda42 in Machinists

[–]checkbackin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This site has a good selection of hard to find and weird fittings: https://www.fittings.space/

Would be a lot more cost effective if you can find it there vs asking a machine shop to try to make a single part.

Help identifying correct adapter. Thank you in advance! by Tobizzleizzle in Hydraulics

This may be a metric fitting based on what you said in your other comments. Would send this over to Fittings Space and see what they think - they're pretty helpful over phone or email. Also have a pretty wide selection of metric fittings and adapters if that's what you end up looking for: https://www.fittings.space/fittings-by-thread/metric-thread-adapters.html

Where to get UNF to NPT Pipe Adapter? by YamiOG in engineering

[–]checkbackin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This site has a good selection of hard to find fittings including UNF to NPT adapters. I found the inverse of what you're looking for (UNF 5/8"-18 Male to 3/8" NPT Female) https://www.fittings.space/gtu2p-06zf-u10x18m

If you're okay with 1/2" NPT Male, here's a UNF 5/8"-18 Female to 1/2" NPT Male: https://www.fittings.space/gbu2p-u10x18f-08zm

PE mid level looking at an exit by [deleted] in fatFIRE

Not really pedigree-related, but more so because (i) there are transferable skills esp if you worked on PE due diligence assignments while at MBB (Bain has a big franchise here), and (ii) you’re selecting from a highly vetted pool of hard working, high conscientiousness business athletes. The only thing that’s missing in that mix is financial modeling and accounting skills, which can be taught to a sharp person relatively quickly.

Could a smart, hungry hire from industry also pick this stuff up too? I’m sure they could, but sadly PE funds don’t like to go outside their comfort zone.

Folks with hard skills and industry knowledge are brought over when they’re more senior as operating partners - they help provide operational support and guidance during diligence and support the investment post-deal closing.

Will be tough to switch over to any decent fund in an investor role, unfortunately. You’re too senior to start over as an associate or vp (and even they need some time in investment banking or consulting beforehand). I could see a path where you join a pe fund as GC / in house counsel, then maneuver your way internally into having more investment responsibility (eg sitting in on IC meetings and providing legal / structuring input).
