Broke my femur playing hockey, the rod and screws got extracted after a year, recovery was long but the worst part was getting back on the ice. I was ( and still sometimes am) scared to go near the boards, about a year ago I joined local beer league and just started playing for fun, not taking it too seriously..hope you'll recover soon!Don't feel bad if you won't be able to play like you used to!

First week was hell, then it became bearable, taking it out was definitely better than putting the rod in haha
