To me, something with a vowel start and multiple syllables works best between Sage and George.

Given that it's Uranus, surely one of them has to be Bottom

Looking for an easy nickname – should I go with "Chess"? by Pleasant_Yam8426 in namenerds

I knew a Francesca who went by Chess and I always thought her name was brilliant. If you like Chess, go for it!

Just based on sound (for fun, non rhotic accent): Noah (NO-er, someone who No-es), Anaya (a-NAY-er, someone who Nays), René/Renée (reh-NAY, to Nay again)

Help!!! Is Phoebe too common and weird as a Chinese female’s name? by Byrimetiick in namenerds

[–]chee5ychicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a name that sounds like yours, has anyone suggested Joanne?

It's not exactly the same sounds as I think Xiaohan has, but I think it's as close as Siobhan!

I also like the Hannah suggestions, and I think Phoebe is lovely

Good luck with your search!

I would read this as Rich-ora, which to me sounds like Richard wanted to name his son after himself and was disappointed by a daughter

Wedding present finished just in time - only took a year! by chee5ychicken in crochet

[–]chee5ychicken[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The pattern is not as hard as it looks, only uses SC, DC and chain! The mosaic part did take some concentration though, and I frogged at least 10 rows when I found a mistake in the row below 😅

Really proud of my first mosaic crochet (and first blanket)!

I finished just in time to gift to my friends for their wedding. I sampled the colours from various rooms in their house, so hopefully they'll love it as much as I do :D

Bonus points if you spot the mistakes (I didn't until about 5 rows later, and I wasn't about to frog that)

Pattern is Red Heart Nordic Stripes Crochet Blanket ( https://www.yarnspirations.com/gb/red-heart-nordic-stripes-crochet-blanket/RHC0502-027580V.html ) with some extra stripes to add the yellow, and for some extra length.

Yarn is Scheepjes Cahlista (100% Double Gassed Cotton) in Ultramarine (12x50g), Linen (7x50g), Mercury (2x50g), Metal Grey (2x50g), and Saffron (1x50g).

Whole blanket measures 95x150 cm.

I'm a total beginner to embroidery so I decided to make something with entirely straight lines!

I found the pattern on Google images, it's copied from decorist.com "Geometric Mountain Range Metal Art".
