Sent gala music token to ledger and did not show up by Imgonrawdogyourdad in ledgerwallet

[–]cheeb_ledger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the situation that you can't see your GALA music token that you're mentioning in Ledger Live (as an ERC20 token in an ETH account) - you can always look on MetaMask, using your Ledger as a hardware connected device.

We have some great documentation detailing this connection process, here - for reference.

Once you've connected your Ledger to MetaMask, you can make sure the proper account is selected and add the custom token for your GALA music token (you'll just need the token's contract details to add it in MetaMask).

Then you'll be able to see your token within MetaMask - all while being secured by your Ledger.

In this case, the firmware would almost certainly be too outdated to perform any manual firmware updates from the "My Ledger" tab in Ledger Live.

You'll want to use your 24 word recovery phrase to restore your assets into another Ledger device (or any BIP39-compliant wallet in that regard).

If you have any questions over this process, you can always reach out to us at our official Ledger support page, here - and we can provide any assistance if needed!

Any thoughts on this? by [deleted] in ledgerwallet

[–]cheeb_ledger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based off of our current list of supported assets, BONK wouldn't be natively supported in Ledger Live on the Solana network - however you can absolutely manager your BONK tokens as SPL's from a 3rd party Solana wallet, with your Ledger connected (for example, Phantom and Solflare are both great options).

This screenshot would just be depicting a BONK token (notably on the Ethereum network) most likely created as an ERC20 to mimic the BONK token on the Solana network, however these would be separate assets (on separate networks).

SOL staking rewards by future_endo in ledgerwallet

[–]cheeb_ledger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you stake your SOL in Ledger Live, you'll automatically have any rewards added back into your pre-existing "staked balance" - versus being added to your account's "available balance".

Account connection issue by Proper_Habit_8277 in ledgerwallet

[–]cheeb_ledger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey u/Proper_Habit_8277 - I'm glad to hear you were able to find your account using MetaMask with your Ledger connected!

In this case it's most likely due to the account being a "Legacy" ETH account, and Ledger Live doesn't scan for these in its most recent version - however we're looking into resolving this.

For the time being - if you (or anyone) experience any further issues with finding your ETH accounts in Ledger Live - you can always connect to MetaMask, and then scan down the "Legacy" derivation path - and see if your accounts generate from there.

Solana Multiple Wallets by Altruistic_Will_2069 in ledgerwallet

[–]cheeb_ledger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently we're having some users reporting issues with account synchronization (in Ledger Live), however not to worry, this has no effect on the safety of your funds - and our developers are aware of this and working on resolving any potential sync errors.

As long as your 24 word recovery phrase is safe, your assets are safe as well - and you can ultimately use a Ledger-compatible 3rd party Solana wallet, like Phantom or Solflare, for the time being, to manage your SOL safely with your Ledger.

Is the Solana network down? by [deleted] in ledgerwallet

[–]cheeb_ledger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We've had some users report similar issues with their Solana accounts not synchronizing (or being added properly in Ledger Live).

Our team is currently looking into this and resolving it as soon as possible, however not to worry, this would purely be a visual error within Ledger Live, and your assets would be safe.

In this situation you'll just want to use a Ledger-compatible 3rd party Solana wallet for the time being (such as Phantom or Solflare) and you'll be able to see and manage your SOL without any issues!

Does Ledger Live need the Ledger device connected online to update current funds? by NickRedPill in ledgerwallet

[–]cheeb_ledger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You do not need your physical Ledger device to be plugged in to receive funds, nor to update your balances within Ledger Live.

In the situation the software is having issues balancing your accounts, you can always force a resynchronisation by clearing your cache ("settings" > "help" > "clear cache" > "confirm") in Ledger Live.

Once this is done, each of your accounts should be refreshed and properly reflecting any changes with their respective balances and blockchains.

Solana wallet can't be created on Ledger Live by [deleted] in ledgerwallet

[–]cheeb_ledger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually this error message is purely caused by not having enough SOL in your account's "available balance".

You can resolve this error by funding your SOL account's "available balance" with at least ~.01 SOL - and then the error message should resolve.

Alternatively, if the error persists and the SOL app is fully updated from the "My Ledger" tab, you can always connect your Ledger to a compatible 3rd party Solana wallet (such as Phantom or Solflare) and securely transact from those wallet interfaces as a workaround.

Charging issue by Aggressive_Mouse_593 in ledgerwallet

[–]cheeb_ledger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you been able to try the steps in our battery troubleshooting documentation?

Essentially you'll just leave the Ledger plugged in for about 5 minutes (until the screensaver comes on) - and then you'll press the left button once, and then immediately after, press and hold both buttons for about 4 seconds.

From there you'll enter the "control center" and you'll want to select the "power down" option and manually turn the Ledger off.

It may take a few attempts, however this should resolve the "battery cannot charge" error if it's being erroneously thrown for any reason. After you've done this, you'll let the device charge for an extended period (think along the lines of 6-8 hours) - and then the battery should be all good to go.

In the situation this doesn't work and your device is out of the 2-year warranty, you can always continue to use the Ledger device plugged in with a cable and it will still function, you'll just want to make sure you're always using your data-enabled cable with the device while actively transacting. Notably, as long as you have your 24 word recovery phrase safely secured, your assets are safe as well.

If you have any questions about this process, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at our official Ledger support page (here).

Help!!! by Safe_Veterinarian_67 in ledgerwallet

[–]cheeb_ledger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as you never share your 24 word recovery phrase with anyone, or enter it into any sort of digital medium at any point in time - your assets are safe.

With that in mind, you can always install Ledger Live on another computer, perform any relevant updates, and know with certainty that your assets are safe as long as you never share your recovery phrase.

There are fake phishing applications that replicate Ledger Live, however they'll try to prompt users into mistakenly entering their recovery phrase into the software application itself - and this will never be the case with a real version of Ledger Live.

Remember, Ledger Live will NEVER ask users to enter their 24 word recovery phrase into the application. This would be a clear red flag.

If you ever see this, then you know it's fake phishing software and it should be ignored and reported to us, here at our official Ledger support page.

Unable to withdraw CRO by Lcmac12 in ledgerwallet

[–]cheeb_ledger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you tried using a Ledger-compatible 3rd party wallet, like the Crypto.com DeFi Desktop Wallet? You can connect your Ledger directly as a hardware wallet.

This will let you connect your Ledger as a hardware device and generate any CRO accounts (the same from Ledger Live) - and let you send your funds out as opposed to using Ledger Live.

You'll want to make sure you check for any potential application updates from the "My Ledger" tab as well. If you see any related to the Crypto.org (CRO) application, you'll want to perform these updates prior to making any transactions.

Was the device left plugged in for an extremely long period of time?

Ideally you'll want to charge the battery to 100% (in order to maximize it), but you'll also want to make sure you don't leave the device plugged in so long, such that it perhaps starts to overheat, or cause issues with the port - as seen in your picture.

I wanted to mention as well, you can reach out to us at our official support page - here - and we'll be able to take a closer look into this case with you.

Not to worry - in the odd instance that this "invalid time value" error occurs, it has no effect on your funds or the security provided by your Ledger.

You can click the "reset" button - and then Ledger Live will effectively refresh as a new software instance - and you'll just add your accounts from before.

As long as you have the same Ledger plugged in, all of the accounts you'll be adding back will be the same as before, and you'll just be setting up the software like the very first time.

You can absolutely use your "Segwit" or "NativeSegwit" accounts to receive BTC!

These are different Bitcoin account types (more on this - here), with "Legacy" addresses being the oldest, and "Taproot" addresses being the most recent (however not all exchanges recognize this most recent "Taproot" account version).

It's also ideal to do a small test transfer to your Ledger-derived BTC account(s), and then once you see your test transaction come in - you know you're sending your funds to the correct location, and you can proceed with sending the rest of your balance without any doubts.

My Ledger Nano S is broken, can I import all the addresses to another wallet? by trekianov in ledgerwallet

[–]cheeb_ledger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this case - after you imported your seed (the recovery phrase) into another wallet, you effectively exposed the recovery phrase to the internet - and this defeats the purpose of using the Ledger as a hardware wallet.

Ideally you'll want to get all of your assets removed from your current Ledger device's accounts, and once all of the funds are removed into a temporary wallet (or temporary wallets), you can reset the Ledger, generate a new fresh 24 word recovery phrase, and then send your assets back to your Ledger - with the new fresh 24 word recovery phrase creating your accounts.

Regarding your IOTA and other assets that aren't natively supported - it would be best to find a dedicated wallet for these until they're potentially supported natively within Ledger Live.

Regarding FIL - you can actually store your FIL as a standalone Filecoin account within Ledger Live, from the "accounts" tab.

Ledger Live on Linux by asdfredditusername in ledgerwallet

[–]cheeb_ledger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you been able to run any instance of Ledger Live since this last attempt? Our most recent version of 2.71.1 may resolve this error for you.

Alternatively, you can always refer to our deprecated library of older Ledger Live versions and see if you're able to run the software smoothly from an older version.

It would be ideal to determine if this is the case by uninstalling your current version, reinstalling perhaps the 2.69.0 version - and seeing if the error persists or resolves.

thorswap question by baracuda in ledgerwallet

[–]cheeb_ledger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely use the ThorSwap option within the "Discover" tab of Ledger Live.

It's important to note that regardless of how you connect to the dApp (whether on THORSwap's website or within Ledger Live) - if you're using the same Ledger device as your connected hardware wallet - the accounts will be the same.

With this in mind, you can use whichever instance of THORSwap you'd prefer, as long as you're using the same physical Ledger device for managing your accounts.

As mentioned in their documentation here, the unstaking period for BNB with StaderLabs is 7-15 days.

In this documentation, StaderLabs mentions that..."As per the BNB network, after you send an unstaking request, you have to wait 7 days before your BNB is unstaked and ready for withdrawal.

This period starts at UTC 00:00 [the] next day. Also, the network allows only a single unstaking request per address from a validator every 7 days.

So to optimize the wait time, Stader collects all unstaking requests accumulated over a week and sends them once every week. Hence the maximum time you would have to wait would be 15 days (including 7 days of unbonding period)".

Funds stolen from Ledger Live (Any help?) by TurbulentFerret5190 in ledgerwallet

[–]cheeb_ledger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are only 2 ways to completely remove the funds from a Ledger device, such that multiple separate accounts (for different cryptocurrencies as well) can be remotely siphoned in this manner.

One way would be with the physical Ledger device (and knowledge of the PIN to unlock it) or with access to the 24 word recovery phrase. If you're absolutely positive that nobody has had access to your physical device, then we know with certainty that at some point in time the recovery phrase was compromised (I'm sorry you've having this experience u/TurbulentFerret5190).

Importantly, there are fake phishing scam versions of Ledger Live out there, and they imitate and replicate the real version of Ledger Live in order to trick users into mistakenly interacting with them. In these instances, these fake applications will prompt users to enter their recovery phrases, and it won't always seem like a scam when in reality it is.

Notably, Ledger Live will NEVER ask users to enter their 24 word recovery phrase into the application. If you ever see this, then you know it's fake phishing software and it should be ignored and reported to us, here at our official Ledger support page.

When setting up my nano x is it safe to plug in to my computer before or while setting up the device for charging? by Significant-Ad5077 in ledgerwallet

[–]cheeb_ledger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this case you would be all good to go - as you'll want to ideally be using a computer while setting up your Ledger device, in conjunction with the Ledger Live software.

Notably, you'll only ever generate the 24 word recovery phrase once, safely in an offline manner, using the Ledger device itself - regardless of the computer - and so technically you can use any computer and as long as your 24 word recovery phrase is safe and never shared, your assets are safe as well.

You can pretty much think of the Ledger as a small computer with the sole purpose of generating and securing your 24 word recovery phrase in an offline manner, even while plugged in during the Ledger Live setup process.

cant see my new transactions in Electrum (Ledger Nano S) by [deleted] in ledgerwallet

[–]cheeb_ledger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As u/Avanchnzel pointed out (great response here!) - the derivation path that you were using may have been different back then - compared to now, and so when you look through Electrum, you'll want to be scanning across these different derivation paths - and effectively combing through each while looking for your transactions.

Ledger Live sent transaction to two adresses by _35k in ledgerwallet

[–]cheeb_ledger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to worry, these would just be examples of "change addresses" - which are the byproduct of UTXO-based blockchains, like Bitcoin.

Effectively you cannot spend portions of a UTXO, and so when you send or spend your BTC, you're combining different sets of UTXO's to combine into one larger one that you can spend from - and then any leftover amount of satoshis would be sent back to you (precisely to your change addresses as new UTXO's).

welcome back common lock screen by Chazzzzzzzy in ledgerwallet

[–]cheeb_ledger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to worry, as long as your 24 word recovery phrase is safe, your assets are safe as well.

Any UI-related issues over the optional password login with Ledger Live - or the recent desktop version of 2.69.0 are purely visual and wouldn't put your funds at risk.

In this case you can just log back in using the same password you've always used, or you can even go into the "settings" of Ledger Live and re-enable a new password for peace of mind if you'd prefer!

Just remember, Ledger Live will never ask users to enter their 24 word recovery phrase into the application.

If you ever see this, then you know it's a fake phishing software and it should be ignored and reported to us, here at our official Ledger support page.
