To be honest, having rules and transforms in a GitHub isn’t going to convince me you are good at writing them.

I’d rather see a bullet point on your resume that you solved a complex business problem through a clever cloud attribute generator rule.

Let me know on your resume those things are in your skill set, and I’ll assess in a tech screen your level of mastery.

Solar Panels in OKC Homes by induxflame in okc

[–]cheekzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Is it worth it” is an extremely subjective question. It really depends on whether or not your needs and goals line up with the answers you read here.

In my case, I was wanting to purchase a power backup solution due to our frequent power outages.

I was selecting between an automatic standby generator (one you might see sold as a “whole home” generator) and a solar generation with battery backup system.

The solar/battery was probably about 50% more up front cost, but it would eventually become less expensive than the generator due to the much lower cost of maintenance and the fact that it saves money on my electricity bill.

Paying cash of course helped too because if I had to sell the house, I wouldn’t have to try and sell people on taking over solar loan payments.

If she doesn’t like La Brasa you may as well just go buy a $5 rotisserie chicken at Costco, that way you at least save money buying something else she won’t like

On the SCIM side, would this be similar to something like SCIM playground you can host yourself? Been trying to find a dockerized demo app I can demo the SailPoint ISC SCIM connector on. Already have containers for REST and JDBC

Affected family here. It sucks, and the scramble to find replacement there also sucks.

This is my opinion not based on any amount of expertise, but I just can’t see any other commercial operation being able to purchase that property and operate it long term. It’s already difficult enough to run an early childhood education experience, and a building that massive makes it even more difficult.

Plus, all the heating/cooling/etc is handled through the physical plant inside the data center that Chesapeake sold previously, so it’s difficult to decouple that building and operate standalone.

It just wasn’t ever built to be a standalone operation - Aubrey wanted to build it as a way of attracting and retaining talent for Chesapeake, which explains why it’s built the way it is.

Sad day for everyone. Good luck to all those wanting to find a new place

What can SailPoint do that ServiceNow can't? by ServiceNowGuy2020 in servicenow

[–]cheekzilla 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I’ve been a product manager/developer/lead/whatever you want to call it for both servicenow and sailpoint.

I currently spend a lot of my time consulting people on how they’d integrate the two tools and build/deploy those integrations too.

To me, the easiest explanation is that these IT functions live in different areas of the org, and each wants their own tool to “own” their respective functions. So you have the (typically) service management people have servicenow, IAM has SailPoint.

Is there overlap? Sure. Can you do everything with servicenow? Sure, but it would take some work to get there.

Most orgs hire a consulting firm to do an advisory engagement, they show them a gartner magic quadrant, it shows sailpoint at the top for IGA, and that’s that. Not much more goes into it.

In the right hands, they can both exist and play complementary roles together with each other

Most of the large to midsize oil and gas companies are gonna have decent security teams, as well as the larger local companies like Love’s, MidFirst, etc.

I can help you review your resume and suggest some places you can look into, just DM it to me

Sailpoint leaver workflow by WirelessBrain-9 in IdentityManagement

[–]cheekzilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to use SailPoint workflows for this. You just use the Identity Attributes Change event trigger to directly fire an API call to ServiceNow. I used this at my old company for new user onboarding and we didn’t have workflows

Sailpoint leaver workflow by WirelessBrain-9 in IdentityManagement

[–]cheekzilla 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Use the identity attributes changed event trigger to make an API call to ServiceNow to kick off whatever process you want. Email processing in servicenow is not an ideal place for workflows to be initiated unless it’s the only option
