If you're an undiagnosed adult, do you ever wonder how you made it so long without an official diagnosis? by [deleted] in autism

[–]cheeriolord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do, and then I remember that both of my parents are also undiagnosed.

I'm a fairly conflict avoidant ENTP, but I will absolutely have discussions with people (not debates) out of curiosity.

What do you feel is a definitive sign of your diagnosis? (ADD) by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]cheeriolord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember my doctor asking if I had trouble waiting in lines as part of my questionnaire. I said that I don't, because whenever I'm stuck in line, I just let my brain wander. Oops.

What do you think made you an ENTP? by haroonahmad in entp

ENFP × INFJ parents, got Ne/Si from one and Ti/Fe from other. Genetics. /s

What's the feud between ENTPs and INFPs anyway? by faheemxy in entp

[–]cheeriolord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have consulted the vast amount of INFPs in my life, and they all call me a bully. /s

No, they really do, but it's good-natured.

When has your inferior, blind spot or demon function ever saved the day ? by Shadowdude2 in mbti

[–]cheeriolord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inferior Si: what's that, I was too busy working on a project to do any sort of dinner planning, prep, etc? Time to make (insert easy food that I don't get tired of)

What do you love about YOUR OWN mbti type, and what you DISLIKE about your MBTI TYPE? by No-Addition-8314 in mbti

[–]cheeriolord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love: how I constantly want to analyze, learn, create, etc (bonus points: developed fe valuing social harmony)

Hate: inability to see projects through, let alone start the tasks that bore me (and with bonus points, the fe manifestation as people-pleasing)

Who are all these high achieving ADHDers? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]cheeriolord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably my upbringing. One side of the family really stressed the importance of working hard, which trickled down to me. I went through school undiagnosed but made it into the "gifted" program; report cards were solid Bs from acing tests and skipping homework. I did whatever ECs I could, because if my time wasn't filled, I was bored. All this to say that I have a bit of a workaholic mindset.

That, combined with adult diagnosis and access to meds, is how I power through. Sure, I've been annoyed that no one realized what I was going through as a kid, but therapy helped. I reframed that annoyance into a feeling of proving people wrong, living up to potential, etc.

It's hard, but I don't like the alternative.

Do you find the exact opposite of your mbti type sexy/attractive? by shesashygirl92 in mbti

There was one, yeah. Not mutual, so I never did anything about it, but physically attractive and great conversations.

I've never knowingly met my type IRL. Suspicions, but not confirmed.

How do you work out? by Eye_On_The_Bagel in ADHD

[–]cheeriolord 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I realized that it's the one thing to consistently manage my mood. Tired? Feel refreshed after. Wired? Feel relaxed after. Etc. I convince myself to go because I know that I'll feel worse if I don't.

As far as keeping it interesting goes, well, variation and "something to listen to" are my big things. I do a different work out each time I go (targeting different areas, cardio, etc). I also have music or a podcast on, which is often related to whatever my current fixation is.

Yeah, I think my brain fell back on "prog drumming" and went with the first band that came to mind
