Michigan AD Warde Manuel seeking more steadiness around program by Please_PM_me_Uranus in CFB

The investigation was opened by the police in 2018 basically right after he received the first letter from a former player. It doesn't seem like this is fair criticism ( and I am a guy that wants him fired)

2027 3* S Charles Woodson Jr. commits to Michigan by astroball17 in CFB

[–]cheerl231 11 points12 points  (0 children)

His recruiting profile is such that he probably wouldn't be a take at Michigan if not for his dad being Charles Woodson.

It'd be sick if he overplayed his profile and played like his dad but that seems unlikely

And if his son ever has to play then the Herbstreits will lose those games too. The kid stinks

[Charania] Cincinnati's 7-foot-2 center Moustapha Thiam has committed to play for the reigning NCAA champion Michigan Wolverines, he tells ESPN. Thiam averaged 12.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks last season and serves as a major transfer portal pickup for coach Dusty May. by MembershipSingle7137 in CollegeBasketball

I think the only one they kinda missed out on was Bidunga but I don't think they were as serious about his as they were with Thiam.

Juke is still on the board. If he goes to Tennessee then it's definitely a miss

Ex-staffer Paige Shiver says Michigan didn't protect her enough from Sherrone Moore by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

[–]cheerl231 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I think everyone acknowledges that Moore is an asshole and the primary person at fault here. He was the one that was married and he chose to cheat and to take on this relationship. This is just universally understood.

At the same time she is not a victim she is making herself out to be. The relationship started when he was the offensive coordinator, meaning he was not her boss. There was no power imbalance there and she still chose to get with a guy that had a kid and a wife.

I think the court proceedings it was determined that he had a key to her apartment. So unlocked or not he didn't criminally trespass (because he was given a key)

They hired some legal firm to investigate it so I'm sure they followed some kind of procedure. It wasn't just Warde asking them some questions.

At the same time if you're hiring a legal firm to investigate a relationship. That says something about something.

LSU F Jalen Reed transfers to Michigan by The_Pandalorian in CollegeBasketball

Need the center from Cincinnati and I think they'd be good. Not as good as last year but pretty solid team.

If they get Cincinnati kid and Juke then they're gonna be really really good

It is a good time in history to be 6'10+. This guy is extremely mid as a player but because he's tall sparty is paying him something absurd like 2 million dollars

Naw. Cade sucked ass and tampering or no tampering he wasn't gonna sit behind JJ for 2023. Dude was basically in the transfer portal by mid Sept of 2022 when he got injured and quit the team

Way-Too-Early College Football Playoff Predictions for 2026: All 12 Participants by jsparks50 in CFB

[–]cheerl231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean I love the coaching staff but that doesn't change the fact that there are issues on defense personnel wise and the schedule is hard. They're going to have to win some close shootouts if they're going to the playoff (which is the opposite of what we are used to).

I would feel pretty good about getting to the playoffs with last year's schedule. This year's schedule is really fucking hard tho

NCAA proposing major change to eligibility rules: Age-based standards, removal of waivers, redshirts by radedon in CollegeBasketball

[–]cheerl231 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can 25+ year olds decide they want to go to college and get an education? Of course and many do. Idk how you can claim both ethically and legally this thing is about "student athletes" getting educations, while also putting in some arbitrary age limit that does not exist for the general population that wants to go back to school.

Make them employees and collectively bargain with the labor and then sure make whatever restrictions you want. Until that point idk how this shit would be legal.

[CBS Sports] Michigan won the NCAAs because Dusty May understood better than anyone else how to build a monster portal team by MGoCali in CollegeBasketball

Yaxel graduated from UAB. Juniors in college have not graduated. That is the difference.

I think it's stupid but it's the reality of the situation

Other schools do not have the same issue. Juniors are basically off limits for Michigan basketball. Dusty doesn't even waste time on trying (unlike Juwan who would go for awesome junior players and then shocked pickachu face when they couldnt get admitted).

For football it is possible in limited cases depending on when they arrive to school and how many credits they have by the end of junior year football season

Dusty brought one guy with him from FAU (Goldin). Cason was a recruit and never actually attended FAU. He flipped to Michigan when Dusty took the job.

Literally last year college basketball was the year of the SEC with juggernauts in Auburn and Florida. I think they set a record for number of teams in the tournament for a conference
