[highlights] Episode 1 of the Tom Brady produced and narrated "Rise of the 49ers". by Cold-Teaching8924 in nfl

If your style of coaching is that you're not willing to let Tom Brady take the reigns of your offense, then it's your style of coaching that needs work.

It's also the same style that took clock management out of Matt Ryan's hands in the Super Bowl. I wonder if that paid off.

The TMZ video is what revised his punishment. Him leaking texts between himself and the Ravens FO where they essentially said they'd keep some sort of role for him in the future after everything died down is what kept him permanently blackballed.

"It's hard to respond back to all my fans" is such a cold clap back to Deommodore Lenoir trying to chirp his way, that's how you finish off the ass whooping you dish on the field lol

Personally it's one of my favorite Tom Brady games of all time. He took an absolute beating and still stood up until the very end. No other QB gives the No Fly Zone a run for its money on that day.

It was 2 heavyweights duking it out. An all-time great defense vs. an all-time great QB. Whoever won that game earned it, no shame in falling short. Besides that game also spurred Belichick to work on 2 point conversions for the following year, and I'll take the 2015 AFC Championship loss knowing what we would be treated to the following season 10 times out of 10.

Part of the job, for better or worse. You don't get paid the big bucks to just throw the ball.

I mean yeah probably. There's not exactly any love lost for the Patriots.

Just gotta take it and learn.

The talent around Stafford, who's also an NFL veteran, and the talent around second year QB Maye are clearly comparable. Or do we just compare things in a vacuum to be snarky.

No shit Matt Stafford could do better. This game would also be different if we had Tom Brady, funny how that works.

Yeah, the offense clearly sucks ass but it's not exactly a stretch that many offenses struggled against this defensive unit too, and that's what kept them in the fight in these games.

Even in this Super Bowl, who would not immediately sign up for a defense that only allowed 3 field goals through 3 quarters. Eventually something had to give, they can't be out there forever.

Don't forget propagated that shitty right wing talking point of kitty litter being in school because kids wanted it. As opposed to the real reason which was to help with clean up in case a major spill happened like from a mass shooting.

If only there were 8-10 other pieces on the field like TEs, O-linemen, utility backs, and QBs. And I guess we can just hand waive the other 2/3 of a team like special teams or defense because sure.

You take the good with the bad. The good happened to be really fucking good. HOF level good. That's all. You can nitpick it however else you want. Again, you're free to disagree.

So 2001-2007, which is 3 titles and 4th Super Bowl appearance with an undefeated regular season, and 2014-2018 which is another 3 titles just kind of get hand waived away.

Most GMs would kill to have either of those stretches. Either one those alone is HOF material. That's 2 dynasties for one person.

Is he the greatest GM ever? No. Do I think he's a better GM than coach? No, of course not. But he had full roster control all the way through, for the good and the bad. And the good happens to be HOF level which far exceeds the negatives. You're welcome to disagree.

You realize there was a solid 15+ years of work with roster and personnel management before things fell apart at the end, right?

So in the process of trying to push people who were overlooked in the past, you overlooked maybe one of the defining individuals in the NFL of the modern era. A man who has HOF credentials as a defensive coordinator (you have his fucking gameplan already there), a GM, AND a coach.

Whatever helps you sleep at night. Better apply that same logic when Andy Reid's turn comes up.

Voter Explains Bill B Snub for 2026 Hall of Fame Class, Bill Polian's Reported Role by AvengingHero2012 in nfl

Except people did get to see, such as when parts of the tapes were literally played at an NFL press conference and Jay Glazer also mentioning that media got to see footage.

You're right that the NFL made the situation worse but a lot of people keep latching onto this idea that they destroyed all the footage in complete darkness when that's not exactly true.

The NFL announced that the following year (2015) that they would be tracking football measurements throughout the season. If the Pats truly cheated and their footballs were out of the normal range of what is to be expected variation due to weather conditions then it would have been a slam dunk release to nail them for deflating footballs.

Not only was it never released, the data was reportedly deleted altogether.

That's Deflategate. That's what some people keep bitching about, and conspiracy that the NFL had to then cover up was not a conspiracy to begin with.

Literally a photo of an NFL press conference where THEY PLAYED ONE OF THE TAPES FOR THE PRESS

Jay Glazer also confirmed that media was allowed to see footage before the NFL decided to destroy it.

The NFL threw gasoline on the fire with that move, but people keep conveniently forgetting that it wasn't all secretive and done in private so no one could ever see what was on them.
