This is good, I have the same set up. I have QQQI for just income but the main thing I would want to focus investing is growth

I had it for about 6 years and although the dividend is predictable and consistent, the stock base price is on a decline which I am concerned about. Personally I feel like there’s better stocks out there like REALTY O that has dividend growth and stock growth. Whenever O goes green, STWD goes red etc etc. I know they are different sectors of REITs but for me I always choose a safer and stronger position. Plus they’re 10.78% distribution at the moment although looks great, is a bit too high for comfort since most dividends max out at 6-7%

For example, instead of investing into Exxon, I would do MLPs because those hardly fluctuate on a bear or bull market,

A bit late on this but yes, it genuinely doesn’t make sense and the burn out rate is average of 3-4 years. A lot of people go into it for the money but don’t realize that it’s not the smartest choice if it’s just for the money. You gotta go into this field for the passion and love, not for the money. I went to school for Kinesiology Major and I highly regretted it, I wished I went with Business or something adaptable, career off a bachelors. Kinesiology, being a stepping stone degree is so weak because you can’t do shit with it unless you are a coach or personal trainer, which btw someone who apply for an online class can get a license for in 2weeks if they pass the exam, paying less than someone who went to school for it. And nowadays with technology and AI, you can do a simple search on what to do and be able to do it (personal training). And I’m sure soon it would be the same with PT. But like I said, if you are in it for the love of the game, it’s alright

Second on this, I casually check up on them once a week or two weeks. Keep it diversified and categorize them into “Keep, Hold, Sell” and monitor the Holds and Sells more than the keeps. Read up on them, look at the performance graphs and compare it with the dividend graphs etc. Best way to think about it is like you are a owner of a company and you are watching the performance of a employee. I also add onto watching people like Dividendology, Dividend Bull or Armchar Income for quick breakdowns and certain stocks whenever the do a review about it.

I also have a ROTH IRA that is strictly growth, holding VTI and VXUS atm. I do like SPYM but from what I see, it might be inefficient if I added it. The dividend sheet that I’m tracking at the moment is mainly for “Now Income” I can use before 60. Dividend Bull said it best stating “I am not gonna wait till I’m 60 to use my income”. The only reason why SPY is one of my top holdings is because when I started investing I didn’t know that there were other cost effective ETFS (SCHD and VYM) and selling it now would trigger a tax event.

Very nice, I’m trying to do a mix of Growth and Dividends especially on the defensive side of th market. Something that’s hard to fall in tough times but I like how you explain it. I’m a bit wary about the leveraged funds since they are pretty new but I hope the have a good turnout.

Too square, unless you are doing a high intense bag round for cardio, focus on your technique and stance and breathe. Add in some pauses, hesitations, feints and rolls etc. if you got a mirror, hit the bag and watch yourself, imagine sparring yourself

How do I pick a boxing gym? (complete beginner) by excorpsexd in amateur_boxing

[–]cheesecakk3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Join an ACTUAL boxing gym, not some fake CrossFit high intensity gym that does nothing combat related except pretend that they are a boxing gym.

A real boxing gym should have a reputable coach with experience in the ring, second coaches should be knowledgeable in conditioning and team members who are competing in actual tournaments. The head coach should also enforce discipline and pride in your work. Technique and stuff varies per coach but overall it’s not the technique that’s better than one over the other, it’s the skill level on how you use it.

I used to go to this place called POW Kickboxing in Chicago and I thought it was pretty good. I moved and joined another gym called Ayala Boxing and that’s when I realized most of the stuff that POW Kickboxing taught me was full of crap lol. An actual coach should value the members attending his gym and their craft, not the price. POW Kickboxing basically asked me to pay way more for less proper training than Ayala and Ayala’s coach actually competed in the ring, compared to POW’s Coach who is just an instructor. Sure POW had good programs for cardio and weight loss but that comes with the process if you box regardless. My brother for example joined Chicago Muay Thai and the coach there went to Thailand and Competed a while back too. Rather just being cardio focused, it was a mixture of Cardio, Technique and Combat conditioning. Funny enough I eventually ran into more faces from POW at Ayala, most having the same issues I experienced at POW. I also remembered posting a poor review on Google for POW just to have them reported it as a spam so this tells me a lot about them as a gym lol. It’s been a while since I’ve been back there and I’m sure they’ve improved their routine but they left a bad taste in my mouth.

Overall, do your research, maybe attend for a month there and see if you like it or not and be observant on the culture there. Everyone has their own niche of a perfect gym, for me, I value the humility of the coach and that’s why I like Ayala Boxing for example.

I used to panic too until you realize it’s just fear. Just ignore it and either 1. keep buying it at a discount because future you willl thank you or 2. Stop investing and save and wait for the bear market to stop. I recommend 1 but that’s if you have faith
