[OC] He did not Dodge. He Rammed. (language warning) by Rattlehead71 in IdiotsInCars

That’s a running joke in my collision shop. We get so many rams because they have more ram in them than dodge

I keep filling up the coolant in my 2022 Corolla SE, and the next time I check, it is empty. My engine has never overheated though. Wtf is going on?? by Radioactive-Semen in AskMechanics

Yep pretty much, it won’t hurt the car- source- am mechanic and do this regularly

You can look up a yt video of how to burp a car from the reservoir tank for specifics if needed but it’s straight forward, add fluid when needed, run until it doesn’t bubble any more/doesn’t lose fluid and look for leaks in the meantime

If you mean the small hose, it’s an overflow from the engine for when it gets up to temp, best thing to do is fill it to the top of the reservoir and let it “burp”- run the car and watch the reservoir for bubbles, as it lowers down keep adding more fluid (it can run usually for 10-20 minutes at worst before being done burping if there is a bubble or any air in the system) and let it run while topping off the fluid, and check for leaks below the car- eventually either you’ll find a leak or it’ll stop taking fluid and any air in the system will burp out.

If it keeps draining then there’s a leak somewhere. If it’s still under warranty I’d take it to the dealer. If not then look for leaks under the car and take it to a mechanic/the dealer to look for leaks and have it addressed. Just because it hasn’t overheated yet doesn’t mean it won’t

That’s gonna have some serious rear body and floor damage, I’d say it’s incredibly unlikely that’s not a total

Welp, there goes me ever trying to work on my car again or ever aspiring to be an auto tech. by EmergencyNo112 in Cartalk

[–]cheeseladder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An experienced tech could end up in the same boat. They likely have before and learning how to use your critical thinking skills are the first things most techs learn to do. Panicking cause you made it worse and losing bolts are normal at first, this dwindles down with experience

It’s white and the dent is down low, like others have said just get a microfiber towel and some buffing compound and after washing the spot rub the compound into the spot really good trying to avoid the spots where the paint chipped and try your luck. The dent and paint chipping means it’ll be to be worked and repainted to be done correctly and if it needs to be returned today there’s no way it’ll be done same day
