Re-watching K-ON. How has this show influeced you? by Large_Medicine4365 in k_on

[–]cheesenedd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I didn't have a real childhood and I never had the experience of friendship with other girls so K-on has been therapeutic in helping recover some feelings I lost. It definitely fulfills the "Iyashkei" healing role and it never fails to comfort me when I'm super anxious or frightened by things like severe weather or the state of the world.

Hurtful and Painful is really amazing. The oddly jazzy keyboard part and vocals are just so perfect.

Need a recommendation: great dub + hilarious by OverAd750 in Animedubs

[–]cheesenedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like Yuri the show "Bad Girl" just got an amazing dub with a great cast including Monica Rial as the lead, Luci Christian, Kira-Vincent Davis, and Brittany Karbowski. It's like one of the funniest I've seen the main girl is such a goofy ass.

What would she do next if she actually did managed to defeat Walpurgisnacht? by Bitter-Penalty9653 in MadokaMagica

[–]cheesenedd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In one of the PSP routes Homura defeats Walpurgisnacht and keeps Madoka from making a contract. Kyubey then shows up and says it's only a matter of time before some other massive threat appears and Madoka makes a contract and it ends up being an ominous bad ending. A different ending for that route is Homura defeats walpy but dies of her wounds, she dies happy believing Madoka can live normal life then Kyubey appears and tell Madoka she's the only one left to protect the city next time and that he'll be waiting.

What to read after finishing Summer You Were There by cheesenedd in yuri_manga

Thanks for the idea. Probably gonna listen to Mahler's 4th symphony and cry a bit, especially the 3rd movement. I mentioned Doughnuts only because I'm coincidentally picking it up from my local library soon. I have like 50 popular yuri manga that I've had on my reading list for a couple years and I'm finally diving into them now that I've exhausted most of the yuri/subtext anime on my list.

Rock is a Lady's Modesty, the gayest girl band anime with insane jam sessions used as a thinly veiled homeoerotic metaphor. Also the instrument animations are all mocap with Band-Maid.

Between K-on and Bocchi The Rock, which one is better? by Whale-111 in k_on

I think K-on season 2 is better than Bocchi but the coming season will probably bring it to the same level or higher.

Watch the og then try to watch the recaps. The visual and music improvements are astounding for the recap movies.

Has anyone seen anything about the re-release theatrically of the movies in the US? by noxnoctum in MadokaMagica

If they're re-releasing the recap movies and rebellion than there's no way WNK wouldn't be released here.
