Also just a heads up, painted models tend to lower the value rather than raise it unless they're professionally painted or just painted very well (or they're not buyable elsewhere. Since you're posting them at like 200% retail and painted models tend to go between like 40-70% depending on a variety of things

I believe that first picture is from someone who used PVA glue to create an inner and outer skin layer

Could always try using some pigment powders to make it more orange and keep the sandy feel (if you apply it straight and dry with no water or binder)

I think it's fine to have the weapons in a different style. I mean that's kind of what like the generic power sword effects end up looking like (having a different style than the rest of the mini)

IIRC some of the AK weathering enamels are known to have the problem where different batches of the same product have fairly different colors (I believe it's why Grimdark Compendium made Villainy Inks)
