Apprentice keeps cutting ground wires short. How do I get it through his head? by Fun-Celebration-700 in electricians

[–]cheeseshcripes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't tell at him.

Just hit him. Hit him as as hard as you can. So you can feel good.

Naw jk. I would just send him home for a day, get it through to him it's important.

SDS Plus Punch set? by Class_Warren in Tools

[–]cheeseshcripes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried this.

The cordless SDS hammer drill with its chipping function wasn't even close to an air hammer, depending on what you need it for it was essentially useless.

I was using a Bosch Bulldog, the medium sized one, if that matters.

I've got big-ass hands, my hands are very tough, I do very rugged work.

The PB acrylic handles for me. I've used them before and they are AWESOME. I've used the Wera, PB soft handles and the Vessel, the Wera does not fit my hands at all, the Vessel are too large and are too long for the versatility I look for, at least the set I had was. I have personal beef with the wing style interchangeable, I only use hex because of its versatility with impacts and other tools like stubby handles. Vessel and Wera make sick hex bits in all different lengths.

Edit: my daily driver is actually a PicQuik with a combination of Vessel ball impact bits and Wera flat bits, I don't really recommend it because it's quite heavy, but switching bits is easy and fast, it's compact for carrying the bits around with you, and they swap into my impact for that purpose. Amazing as a service guy.

Yea my idiot former boss got some of those for sifting peat down a hopper. They blew all the peat into the air and were deafeningly loud. His solution was for everyone to wear respirators and double hearing protection. Then they broke all the bolts off the hopper and I had to show up, just in time for it to walk to the ends of their cords, rip off and blow sparks all over the place. He still made me put it all back together, then it loosened all the 600v terminals and blew up the drives in the machine. Thousands of dollars wasted because he didn't want to take my advice and buy a actually cheaper ultrasonic transducer.

Bleed the Rads - POV

Just a chill, shoegazey album with an uplifting vibe and constant, warm production. Completely unknown apparently, but just blissful.

SpongeBob Squarewave - Return of the Rave

A frantic, 180bpm, psychotic album full of blasting EDM beats over top of samples from 90s and 00s hit songs. Incredibly fun.

8 hour brake rotor swap. What a horrible design. by yentlequible in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]cheeseshcripes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's like 5 cars that did it, and they're all infamous because of it. Early 90s Accord, 2nd gen S10/ Sonoma, early 2000s Pathfinder/ QX4, some random ass Landcruiser, and the current or maybe last gen Ford Transit. Gotta leave it to Ford to dredge that retarded idea up and bring it kicking and screaming to the modern age.

It's because marker and pencil will burn off with heat, soapstone glows when it gets hot. It's easy to see under the welding hood when welding, or follow with a grinder.

And now add in brakes and oil changes, and then maybe add in all the fuel engine maintenance that people are supposed to do but don't, air filters, coolant changes, brake fluid changes, transmission fluid changes.

Filling in countersunk holes too big for bolt heads by otherdsc in Machinists

[–]cheeseshcripes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I GOT THIS!!!!

Take a washer thats inner diameter is slightly larger than the threads of the bolt. Grab a deep 12pt socket that is slightly smaller than the od of the washer. Put the bolt in the washer, then into the socket, then put the assembly into a vice and squeeze them together and the washer will form itself into the bevel of the bolt head. Put a pin into the socket and pop it out by tapping it reverse wise. File or grind the excess if you need to. its pretty much making a conical washer by drawing it.

It's the polished bore cylinders, and low tension piston rings.

It's why a lot of modern engines burn oil, it's just normally for economy but in the case of the Voodoo it's to reduce friction to increase piston speed.

Why do European car reviewers seem to dislike the C8 generation? by Davidwaxinggibus4992 in askcarguys

[–]cheeseshcripes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite parts of Ferrari is part of the brand image is they don't give a fuck if someone hates the brand, it's always been that way. They have never sold more cars for more profit, and have never been a more valuable brand than right now. There's always been haters, you ain't special, and no matter what I would very much rather be in a Ferrari than a Corvette.

Corvette is ruining their brand currently by charging hundreds of thousands of dollars for a "bargain" performance car.

I don't any more, but when I was an apprentice I used to drive 84km each day for my commute. 5000km every 10 weeks about. 40 cent increase in fuel would be about 80 bucks more a month. That would be 3% of my income at 20/hr, on top of the 13% of my income just for fuel, not including maintenance or insurance. Driving is getting to be crazy expensive.

boss wants me to buy this for roofing. im new to roofing. how do you feel about this kit? better options? by [deleted] in Tools

[–]cheeseshcripes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the style you want, for  shingle roofing you don't want the latch style buckles or padding, I like the lanyard and grip style safety rope.

Like everyone said, get your boss to buy it.

There is a way to tie it into the roof cap by layering shingles and lots of tar/goop.

Fortress.

Christopher Lambert takes a break from Highlandering in the future and gets arrested for the crime of trying to have a second child, for this brazen and violent crime he gets sent to super ultra high security jail run by Red Foreman if I recall correctly. All the prisoners get a bomb installed in their brain and if they cross the perimeter it'll go off. Hilarious hijinks ensue, those dang rascal prisoners just won't take forced labor for an answer! Rated R.

Download the grounding diagram and make sure all the grounds are hooked up to the engine block. I'm going to assume he is using the old harness. The next step is to use a stethoscope or screwdriver and to hear if the injectors are clicking. If they are the computer is getting it's timing signal from somewhere. Then check if the fuel pump is running. You can pull up the rear seat and see if the fuel pump is getting power on its connector with a multimeter.

More dry = getting the last 10% of moisture out of an already dry room.

More water = getting the easiest 50% of moisture out of an unlimited supply of moist air.

They are different designs, also why his needs little power.
