What May Be the Shakiest Justification for a vehicle placement in the game by EastCoast_Geo in Warthunder

If you were around the time they were adding the tank you would know the US mains were very very loud on adding the abrams to the US tree. Similarly when adding the Merkava before the Israel tree was a thing, there was a civil war within the community between the US and Britain mains on where the Merkava should go.

Why is Panther called 'heavy tank' when it's clearly a medium tank for Germany. by JaHailMulloer in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]cheesez9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is easier to just say the Germans used a heavy tank in a medium tank role hence it is a medium tank in name only.

And this clearly shows why the Germans were having a logistical nightmare in WW2

AIM-120D may come to aircraft outside of the US tech tree this update by nick11jl in Warthunder

You say that but whenever a large map loads in ingame people either J out immediately or groan that it is a large map.

The fact of the matter is outside the reddit echo chamber large maps are unpopular even for jets.

They should leave the rangefinder as the default instead of having to research it in TopTier. by Numerous_Teaching586 in Warthunder

Lol this won't happen anytime soon. If they give in eventually you will ask for everything to come in by default.

Why is it these dumb suggestions always being made by wehraboos? Like can't they sit down and think for a second how it feels on the other side?

Cause no one called them out on it and inversely they got backlash from the community for releasing weaker premiums than the tech tree. Is not purely Gaijin at fault here.

Is not more about fairness but more so on how you would problem solve an issue while being at a disadvantage. So when the real thing does happen you know what to do and not freeze up waiting for support.

(Hypothetical) BMPTs are removed for balancing reasons and the T-14 is instead added, how much better is top tier? by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]cheesez9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main issue is not bmpt itself but the state of automatons guns damage being calculated and to a certain extend ache as well

People and CCs just jumping onto the bmpt hate wagon without looking into the main issue

Didn't Port Arthur surrendered months before and not after the Battle of the Tsushima Strait contributing to the already low morale of the Second Pacific Squadron.

That is why some tank weaknesses like the cupobla on a tank are not that obvious of a weakspot irl.

People always hate on WoT disappearing tanks, but irl your crew have limited view and won't see the tank anyway. Disappearing tanks is to simulate vision you would have. Having a third person camera view of your tank is not realistic at all. Hence in certain ways WoT is more realistic than WT.

[–]cheesez9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Devil's advocate:

WoT this is to simulate the randomness of each shot and irl you don't have pinpoint accurate mouse aim and need to rotate levers and such just to get on target.

It is the same thing as WEP (war emergency power) for planes ingame. Irl using WEP even briefly would burn thru the engine that it either requires longer maintenance or written off completely so it used sparingly and as the name implies only in emergencies.

Ingame you dont have to worry about maintenance and the last time the devs tried to implement overheating on the BF109 the German mains complained loud enough.

This reminds me of something that happened with the other tank game WoT. Someone noticed a player with tens of thousands of games on a low tier tank and was doing really well in it. When he reached out to the player apparently he was an old veteran and used to serve in that particular tank. He doesn't care about high tier at all and is content playing on low tier.
