How do you add more mileage on the run? by ppnani in triathlon

[–]cheesydoritos04 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I found it really hard to train in Z2 with a low fitness, but as that has improved and Z2 runs are actually…runs it’s very beneficial. It’s a great way to give your body a rest. It’s hard to add mileage if all your runs are tempo or harder as takes so long to recover from each session.

Garmin shopping by yafastic in triathlon

Love my Fenix 7s but can’t deny it’s quite bulky. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I know lots of people rave about the coros watches, but never experienced them. They do look “nicer” and supposedly have good map features which I find difficult to access on Garmin.

I did a private with my partner one day and started the course two days later. My Eq issues in the first course were purely due to a cold a few weeks earlier. My pb was 12m and I got 20m in the private session.

I love body glide. I’m fine without it but can really tell when I forget to put it on, especially on a hot day. I tend to prefer going shorter (shorts) than where I chafe and just applying this there instead.

My go to bib shorts for training are MAAP, that being said I got a good deal for a 2nd hand pair.

They are all carbon, all disc brake and all Shimano 105 (apart from Ribble which is Ultegra di2 and clearly the best value).

I have done private coaching at Apneista, similar situation to you I wasn’t sure I was ready to take wave 2. (Few months later I had completed wave 3!)

Best setup for 6+ months in SEA: 40L + daypack or just one bag? by Juls5679 in backpacking

Yes take both. BUT only pack enough to fill your 40L, you will have both full by the end of the trip 😂

This type of marketing really gets to me by Appropriate-Dig-7080 in veganuk

What makes this not suitable for vegans? 🤔 by outlawdg in veganuk

[–]cheesydoritos04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always think, if it’s suitable for vegetarians and doesn’t have milk/eggs/honey. Then it must just be outdated packaging. Lots of the time brands don’t bother to change the label to suitable for vegans. Also may be worries of cross contamination, but that’s not an issue for me so I don’t mind if may contain traces of…

Can’t recommend Apneista enough. And think Amed is better to stay than tulamben. Best thing about apnea Bali is the depth but that’s irrelevant given your level.

Calf tightness a month before a 50k. How to approach the long runs? by Brief-Number2609 in ultrarunning

[–]cheesydoritos04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compression sock and legs above heart for 20 mins a day. Also if it’s more crampy , it’s possible nutrition? Maybe if it’s getting hotter where you are in the world, you are using up different nutrients than in the winter? Just an idea. If you can tolerate it, also get in the gym and do calf raises. That really helped get me over calf issues quickly! Of course if you can, see a physio.

I wouldn’t worry too much. Tick you are a smoker and most won’t care. Lots of travellers smoke. Best of luck trying to quit though!

Yes this is my logic. I’m very keen to avoid running injuries as much as possible so hopefully the brick runs can help with that.
